I’ve had a hair cut, manicure, and pedicure recently. Pros: The front desk gal answering the phone and doing checkin/checkout is FABULOUS. A real gold standard for customer service. Makes a big difference to have someone show care rather than just be a body and do the job. Also prices are affordable for what you’re getting, and there is a variety of services you can try out. Cons: Haircut- As expected there will be flaws- they’re getting the practice they need. What I’m not thrilled about is after getting checked by the supervisor/anything “fixed” I got home and there are clearly areas missed that I had to have someone try to even-up on a simple straight across haircut. They should perhaps double check the hair after removing the cape. Maybe the bulky towel underneath caused issues. Mani/Pedi- Not sure why they don’t have any supervisor check their work on a regular mani or pedi- they still need help on it. At least ask our feedback after privately, not everyone is comfortable pointing it out to them. The gal doing it was very kind and sweet! The problem was with the actual work- I haven’t had either of these done in years, but don’t have terrible looking nails. In the end I felt it was the same as I’d do myself at home. She didn’t push back any cuticles on hand or foot, didn’t try to get any cuticle skin, nor clear underneath the toenail. I clearly had hangnails on my hands of various degrees sticking out. Also even if you don’t see any on the feet- when I get a professional pedi they somehow end up getting plenty to clean up. She spent a LONG time filing and painting. The painting was BEAUTIFUL, which is the biggest deal in my opinion so I was pleased by that. Sadly a number of nails were shorter/longer than one another. Evening comparing my two index fingers they were clearly quite different and could have been prevented. Overall a great place for many people to get the needed help with keeping their appearance up. In my opinion they could be supervised and checked better by their superiors.

The students are amazing and well instructed. The instructors are great at overseeing their students staffs work, of various skills. Miss Deana is super sweet on the phone and in person!! My family and I have only gone this school since it began. We love it there

Took my son for haircut and hair wash. He loved it lol. Very affordable as well.

I have been here before and I’ve always had decent experiences. But this last time I think they just up charge me just because. When I dye my hair they Normally only use 5 ounces and never had to use more. But this last time they used more than double, they used 12 ounces. I did not notice since my husband paid and I called back a couple days later to ask why. They would not give me a reason why they use 12 ounces instead of the normal 5. When I asked why the receptionist only said “well that’s what they used” over and over again in a very condescending tone. Would not even look into why, since historically they’ve only ever used 5 ounces and no reason whatsoever to use more than double.

Had a GREAT 1st time experience at the College of Hair Design. I went to have my makeup done and I am so pleased with how beautiful my eyes look! Mackenzie was very personable, patient, and very talented. It's nice to know there is a place in Salem where you can give the students a chance to practice their skills before they graduate and go out into the workplace. The prices are very reasonable and I will definitely be going back for other services. Fun atmosphere with lots of positivity! Deanna at the front desk was most helpful and welcoming. Hidden gems inside this beauty school!

I stopped in to get a shampoo and blow dry yesterday and was able to book an appointment for later. Nakisha did an awesome job. School was clean, no loud music blaring at me. The relaxing environment was just what I needed

Going to this school was literally the worst decision of my life. I tried to transfer but was caught in a shady contract and left with enormous debt, a horrible education, a supreme loss of enthusiasm for an art form I used to adore and NO TRANSCRIPTS to even finish my educate that would allow me to obtain a license to make the money needed to pay off my debt. I missed one payment to the school while still additionally paying my government student loans...making only minimum wage I might add and losing my apartment and they turned me over to a collection agency. I have made many attempts to chip away at this debt but the agency continually refused the amount I was able to provide and demanded more than I even make in a month! I am now facing court because of this debt. This school has ruined my life as I am trying to start my adult life I am hindered by this debt and experience. Not to mention the time I spent there was miserable and I as well as past and current students I've kept in touch with suspect that they are embezzling money from students government living expenses as many of us have had missing money from checks that was mysteriously unable to be accounted for. They have been investigated AT LEAST once that I am aware of, I don't know how they get away with it or are allowed to continue business. Save yourself the misery and go somewhere else. These people are robbing people of their future, people who just want to make themselves better!!! That's straight evil if you ask me.

The school and staff changed my life. If you're not a responsible person or have issues with Authority and helpful suggestions try a franchise school that leaves you with debt, little skill set, and difficult to hire status. My first job at a high end spa hired me based on my recommendations from the staff.

Excellent professional and friendly service. Their prices are low because it is a college student doing the work but the quality is always very high. I keep coming back for years!
