Colonial Generators is a master distributor of Cummins, Kohler, Generac and Briggs & Stratton Generators. We install emergency home generators and generators for business. We carry generators from 10 kW to 150 kW.

Colonial Generators is a part of the Colonial Home Services Family. We've been in business for over 15 years and have over 1 million customers in the Mid Atlantic region.

Our focus is on customer service and providing and an easy and seamless experience. We offer a no-hassle sale process which includes complete installation.

We specialize in the whole house generator. Our best program is a 20-22 kW generator for $8,999 installed.

Terrific service, installation was great. It was no-pressure sales and the product the Cummins generator they installed has worked perfectly the first time we needed it. I would definitely recommend, and already have, them!
The installers showed up on time and the installation went well. Installers were very professional and thoroughly explained the operation of the generator and mobile app. After installation, they tested the generator to ensure it was working properly. The crew did a great job! I highly recommend Colonial Generators.
We had a generator installed 1.5 years ago, and have had no issues until today, Christmas. In the middle of prep for a Christmas brunch for out of town guests, our power went out and our generator did not restore power to our house. While my husband tried to trouble shoot the generator and poured through the manuals, I called all the company numbers available. Somehow we got through to the company president, Mike, who was able to problem solve with my husband and get our power restored! 10 hours later, our generator is still going strong, allowing us to have a wonderful Christmas at home with our family. I am so grateful for their professional service, even on a holiday morning! Thank you Colonial Generators! I have to update my original review. When our generator was originally set up, they had told us that we didn't need to monitor the generator because they would let us know if any maintenance needed to be done or if anything was wrong. We have repeatedly had instances where our generator has not been on stand-by, in some cases only discovering this when we lost power. Our website to monitor issues is no longer connecting, and multiple attempts to reach the company have failed via email and phone. Great customer service of years ago is now nonexistent.
Installation process was ok. My generator has been non-functioning for almost two months No matter how many times I call and leave messages for a service appointment I never get a return call. Consider another company as Colonial seems to only care about selling units rather than customer service.
Poor installation the first time, came out and "fixed" the installation. 9 months later, we have a propane leak. They came out and tried to claim that there wasn't a problem until I pointed them to test the line going into the house. When we went over to that line, it was clear there was a leak. I was told it was the regulator and they would come out that week and fix it. 3 months later and I have left 6 voice mails with no callback. Don't ever use this company.
