Passion
The study of music requires great passion. Only those who are truly passionate are able to develop the disciplines necessary to be successful in music – to practice, study, perform, and teach others to do the same. There must be a passion, a fire that drives us to live out our calling in Christ. That passion will also fuel a desire for excellence. Our Christian music school is structured to nurture that passion in a supportive and faith based environment, bringing out the best in our students as they prepare for careers in music.
Pursuit of Excellence
The pursuit of excellence is integral to music studies. We, as believers, have an even higher calling toward excellence as we bring our gifts of choral and instrumental music not only for the enjoyment of our audiences, but also as an offering before the Lord. Just as our Creator God does all things well, we who are created in His image are to pursue that same excellence in all that we are called to do – pursuing excellence with the same passion that God pursues us.

Just as J.S. Bach signed his compositions with "Soli Deo Gloria" (to the glory of God alone), the School of Music at Colorado Christian University remains committed to providing quality preparation for a life of service to the Lord through the Arts – a complete integration of our Christian faith into every aspect of music study and the performing arts to the praise and glory of God. This commitment to spiritual and musical development offers a unique experience among Colorado's music schools, an experience we believe helps build not only better musicians but better people as well.
Performing Arts
The School of Music at Colorado Christian University currently offers six music majors – composition, education, general music, music production and engineering, performance, and worship arts; as well as minors in music, music theatre, and theatre. In addition, the CCU School of Music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). The National Association of Schools of Music was founded in 1924 to secure a better understanding among institutions of higher education engaged in work in music, to establish a more uniform method of granting credit, and to develop and maintain basic threshold standards for the granting of degrees and other credentials.
