This system is setup as a purpose driven revenue generator. Following the instructions on my traffic ticket, I'm unable to pay the fine on their website after six tries. I call the courthouse three times but they 'can't find my ticket', therefore I'm unable to pay it. I'm not taking off work to go to court because I'm not disputing the the ticket. Now that a 'late fee' as been applied and a 'failure to appear' fine has been imposed, the exact same website now shows my ticket so I can pay 2x. You are foul.
I have been attempting to take care of getting a traffic ticket dropped since before the 2020 COVID shutdown. That I was given no notice of the courts being closed for my court date and in an essential position I missed a day of work to waste time and gas going to a closed court house. I then did get a date out of the blue via mail with less then a weeks notice, my father was being taken off life support and I called the courts a less than professional female answered and voiced they did not care. Last week after posting a 250.00 bond I could not get the time off work since I am management and there was a District meeting I had no coverage. I sent the motion to the courts with my 24yr old son with no mention of more that it had to be delivered in person or by mail. I found out via US mail today it was never even given to the judge as it was e-signed, not notarized, not served to the DA as well, and I did not take it. Well I will have the bond reinstatement and dismissal served by a process server today. Ridiculous just like their officers giving out SR22 insurance orders when you have insurance just not the proof in hand.
If you get a speeding ticket in Broomfield do not expect the Prosecutor to reduce the points even if you have a clean driving record. The D.A. would not budge on points. I even offered to pay a higher fine to reduce points. They do not care, you are just the next person in front of them that they need to get through on the docket. Don’t bother hiring an attorney, it won’t matter at all. Do not speed in Broomfield!
I have been in the system now for 6 years. I got there because I violated the law. My experience was frustrating at times but the court, probation and any and all contact with the police was nothing short of professional, compassionate and efforts to help me successfully complete my sentence. The DA was more considerate of me than even I would have been if I was her. I am sorry for those of who you did not experience what I did. I can only say don't break the law and put yourself in a challenging, demanding and costly journey that the system did not put us there we did. And show respect to those who are doing thier jobs. They don't just have me to supervise, by far too many of us are on their plates and the poor pitiful me posture does not go far. So I not only applaud Broomfield police and the courts. I thank them profusely for helping me do and be the best person I am today.
The woman working here have the worst demeanor over the phone. I was told I could pay online, and when I called to get proof, they said I had to come in or send them a letter in the mail, for a letter the state is asking me to UPLOAD ONLINE. LOL. Hopefully, Broomfield can join 2021 soon. Called again, because sometimes different people give you different responses.. I asked "Could someone email me my OJW clearance, since I just paid my $200 ticket?" Her: very snarky response "No." Me: "Why? It's asking me to upload it online?" Her: "It's your responsibility." Me: "But if I mailed you a letter someone would put it in a envelope and physically mail it to me?" Her: "Yes" ???? Okay?
I called on the phone for trail information and the court clerk was very professional and provided me with the information I wanted.I was not in person for an offense or this review could be completely different.
We were the defendants in a small claims case. The Magistrate informed everyone, ahead of time, that both sides would get 15 minutes to talk. The plaintiff gave their evidence for 20 and we showed our evidence for 22. The Magistrate taking time to read the evidence is included in your time to talk. We had also filed a counterclaim. After we finished our defense, we started on our counterclaim and were informed that our counterclaim should have been discussed in our turn to talk. VERY unfair! Fifteen minutes or the 20 and 22 in our case isn't enough time to present all of ones evidence...at least in our case. But we should have been told that in our time we had to squeeze in our defense AND our counterclaim. When the Magistrate gave her ruling she denied 100% of our counterclaim because we hadn't provided any evidence. 100% of our evidence was sitting on the table directly in front of us and we were never allotted time to present. The case was wash no winner/no loser but we had receipts for our counterclaim and feel that this was very unfair.
Tried paying fines a total of three times now. Turned in three separate sheets of paper with my info on it and recieved not one single call back from the lady who handles the fines. She works maybe 3 days a week and is on vacation two of those three days so good luck paying your fines. Luckily it is an electronic world so I will pay them online. However the frustration brought forth about this is immense. Again another salary wasted through Brookfield's dollars. Thank you ma'am for none of your help and all your efforts at not doing your job duties. Every aspect of this process has been amazing with exception to you. I work a full time job which means I cannot go to courts everyday to try and make your schedule so next time a paper crosses your desk with pertinent and critical information on it: do me a favor, and do your job. With love and forgiveness yours truly
Unfair, injustice decision of visitation time specially if you are a black man: 15 mn video call every friday wiht my son as visitation time. NY state ordered me legally to pay xx for 2 kids as child support because of COVid19 and school I am unable to pay that amount and decide to pay x amount for child support until adjustment. Now I have a third kids in Colorado, the judge wants to use the illegal x amount to calculate the child support of my third child. What is that!
What kind of amateur organization doesn't allow you to pay a speeding ticket online or over the phone. It's 2020... I am 6 hours south of Broomfield help me out here. This is definitely a scheme how to drive up additional fees.
