The Western Region of CSU Extension includes a diverse landscape and population. Our Extension Agents serve communities in 18 counties on a variety of relevant subjects.
CSU Extension agents in Western Colorado provide solutions for the unique issues in their communities. We partner with other county agencies and non-profits to collaboratively offer the best research-based information available.
The classes and workshops are not offered for college credit. Rather, they address common issues faced by both businesses and residents. We have agents who specialize in agriculture and natural resources including water, family & consumer science, entomology, and 4-H youth development

The Mission of Extension is "to provide information and education, and encourage the application of research-based knowledge in response to local, state, and national issues affecting individuals, youth, families, agricultural enterprises, and communities of Colorado."
Agriculture & Natural Resources focuses on managing: water quality and irrigation; pests; pastures, fields and crop yields; livestock and horses; landscape and turf; vegetable and decorative gardens; involvement in farmers markets; forest health; high altitude gardening; fire control; wildlife management and more.
Family & Consumer Science agents present information on: canning; radon control; child and elder care; nutrition; overall health and wellness.
4-H & Youth Development agents oversee program leaders and club events, county fair competitions, developing new opportunities for youth, and more.
