If you live anywhere near Columbia Heights, MN... this is a wonderful library. It has a great selection of books, plentiful conference/private rooms, helpful staff, and it is very spacious and clean. I needed to print some materials and, after asking for assistance, was shown how to do it. It was a fairly easy process and cost effective if you don't usually print a lot of things 10 cents for B n W copies. There is a nice fireplace located in the center of the library. I love the layout of this building and how comfortable it feels. Every staff member I interacted with was kind and knowledgeable. They did everything they could to help me out. One staff member showed me how to download the Libby app to check out books online as well as audio books. She walked me through every step and asked questions along the way to make sure I knew how to do something. I went around 10:30 am on a weekday they open at 10:00 am every day. So it was still pretty quiet as school isn't out yet. This is a great place to go whether you're by yourself or taking your family. They have a play area in the back for kids as well as a great selection of children's books. What's also nice about this library is the simplicity... it's spacious but not overwhelming. It has elements of color and design, but it doesn't distract you from sitting and reading or walking through the aisles. The city and residents of Columbia Heights should be very proud of this library and the amazing staff they have working there who are serving our community! It is definitely worth going and exploring this treasure of literature and learning.
This is a beautiful, newly built library. There are several cozy reading spaces, including a reserved space for teens, a children's area, spots by windows, and spots by the fireplace. There are meeting rooms with public activities and a bulletin board showing community events. There are computers, a copier, and more. This library has a nice selection, and while the selection may be small, you can request items from other libraries.
I have been here a handful of time, the computer area is very distracting. You have babies crying next to you, older folks chatting at printer but high volume. The worst is the printing, takes forever. Most of all I hate the parking lot, so much space but yet you have to park farthest from the door.
One of my best place I feel comfortable and quiet to study . The staff very friendly, nice and helpful .
Absolutely love this place all the staff is genuinely caring and supportive and excited to help wit my needs or want very helpful in everyway possible. Each time I visit I leave wit a awesome attitude and more motivation to continue reading the books I love and the others that have caught my attention. I also was trying to find specific books that was not available so they found the book for me on more then one occasion.
The best library ever! I love this library.
Wonderful staff!! I stopped by to make copies and didn't realize that you need to make appointments right now as its a soft open since COVID-19. Lucky for me, nobody was using the copier at the time and a wonderfully helpful staff member let me in and informed me that if I'd like, I could just scan the papers to send via email for free instead of pay for copies! Yay! Winning all around Great location, nice, comfortable library with wonderful staff...what more do you need?
Just a beautiful location. I hear they recently got remodeled so it looks unique and nice. I really needed to get online and as a first time user the staff or librarian were very helpful in helping me figure things out. I did feel it was necessary to go around and explore the selection the area was great, the conference rooms were awesome so overall a great experience. If i'm near by this is definitely a great place to stop and do some studying.
I love our library and the people that work there. It's still a local library even though we are part of the anoka county system. This means we have the resources of the big systems but the freedom to do things as needed to serve our local community. That means we still have a personality and are not just a part of the machine.
Great library offers many activities . Has computers available and printers. Staff very helpful and friendly
