My brother was missing for 3 years. Cpd claimed to have made contact so they removed him from MULES, when questioned the said they couldn't tell me what kind of what officer in salt lake made the contact. Later when another agency got involved they claimed to still be running an investigation and put him BACK on MULES. They are untrustworthy in my opinion. I've had lots of fun INS over the years before I kids and most where sketchy
LT Alpers handled a mental health issue with an incredible amount of care and attention. I don't use the term grace often, but I wouldn't know how else to describe it. He handled the situation with grace. It gives you a new level of respect for our police officers.
Called 911 a little bit ago after getting egged in my car off business loop 70, had to wait 10 minutes before getting a call back, after making multiple calls. Good thing I only had an issue with getting egged and wasn’t being robbed at the time. Afterwards they seemed pretty reluctant on wanting to file a report in the issue. They seem to be more worried about writing parking tickets then having someone on call to answer when they are needed.
For most police departments, officers take pride in serving and protecting members of their community. However, officers serving Boone County do not seem to uphold these two basic aspects of law enforcement. Since I have moved to Columbia in 2014, I have not had a single decent or pleasant encounter with officers here. Specifically, in October 2018 when the towing company I had trusted to tow my car to an auto shop left my car unlocked overnight. Items were stolen from my car and I filed a police report. NO ONE contacted me, I had to pursue further. I notified all pawn shops in Columbia of my missing items and provided pictures of each item to them. Then, I took time to ask for video surveillance footage of the night my car was stolen from. Indeed, on the footage, a man wearing a Mizzou jacket was spotted carrying my items away from the scene. After hounding the police department to even talk to an officer, I was treated with ZERO respect. The officer did not care that I took steps to make her job easier and did not pursue my case further. As of this month, July 2019, I have NOT received a phone call in regards to my case. The auto place would not give me the footage unless an officer requested it. I have palm prints on my window still from the perp that robbed me and every morning I get into my car I feel violated just knowing that someone was evil enough to steal from a 2004 car with a flat tire. I guess the Boone County Sheriff’s office and the Columbia PD are too busy sitting in lawn chairs and enforcing speed traps on the Providence to I-70 on-ramp to contact me about this case. My tax dollars are not being well spent in Columbia. Law enforcement here can be better and by all means, SHOULD take steps to improve their system.
My brother is traveling from out of state and was involved in an accident not his fault in a rental car. He had to call the police 3 times and waited over 2 hours for an officer to arrive, who didn't even take a statement but just handed him a card to look up the incident report online and sent him on his way....My brother said the police officer was rude and highly unprofessional and we'll wait to see if he did an adequate accident report or not! I have traveled a lot and never had to wait more than 10 minutes for an officer to arrive to help. 2 hours is absolutely ridiculous!
The police here are very caring and always do their best. I agree that sometimes the timeline of the arrival to handle situations can seem frustrating. However, with lots of crime and only a team of officers I completely understand that they must prioritize. I appreciate their work and them for always doing their best for the safety of the people.
They pulled over a car for a traffic stop right in front of my house. During the interrogation, one of the officers spat on my lawn constantly. They stopped after I contacted the department but seemed annoyed that I dared to complain about it. Filed a formal complaint through the city's web site and the officer that called me back asked me what I hoping to accomplish. I guess it went over his head that I want the cops to behave like professionals. Their standards don't seem too high either as 3 of the 5 cops on the scene were overweight and the other 2 were openly displaying tattoos.
Only giving them one star so I can post. Called the non emergency line to report a stolen purse seven days ago and was told to file online for a report number. I am disabled and only have Internet through my phone and after filling out all the info was told that it didn't recognize the http apparently it doesn't work through the mobile app so then called again just to be told they were busy & I'd have to wait for an officer to call me back. 5 DAYS and I'm STILL waiting. So I guess I have to make arrangements to go downtown and with the rude people that are there.
Call them because some dude was punching the window of car. They actually asked me if they need to spend police or if this was someone having a good time. Worst PD I've ever called
I played a game on my phone while at the pumps after filling up my car at petro mart at 2 am in the morning after working black friday. Instead of the cashiers checking to make sure i was ok and telling me it was loitering which i should have realized faster than i did, they called the police. No biggie, but when they tell me to wait here till they get here to ensure im not drunk or foaming at the mouth, and it takes an hour or so to respond to the scene... Otherwise they were very nice and professional. I just think they need more officers on duty for faster response times.
