A group of medical missionaries and their travels to underserved parts of the world.
We started doing medical missions with Dr. Robert Smith, an Oral Surgeon from Norfolk, Nebraska in 1999 when we traveled to Ecuador. It just wasn't in the cards to go again until 2009 when we went to Jamaica with the Methodist Church. Federated Church then took a group that same year to Nicaragua to work in a girl's home. While washing windows in the Children's Hospital it became clear that doing medical work would be much more rewarding so we joined Forward Edge International and returned the following 2 years to Puerto Cabezas on the Atlantic Coast. Then the opportunity presented itself to go with HELPS International to Guatemala to do a cleft mission. By then the AAOHNS humanitarian meetings presented more opportunities than you can count. The need is enormous and extends around the world. Kenya followed in 2013 and by then it was time to add a FB page. Haiti comes next and more will follow. A trip to DR Congo is awaiting and who knows where it will all lead.
