It was late when we got there and the night auditor already got our keys ready. Breakfast foods were excellent. The swimming pool is also pretty good. My only complaint was the light outside keeps flickering and it was bothering me during my sleep since I like pitch black when sleeping. I wish I should have told them to fix it but forgot it. Overall it was a good stay. Rooms: The room has a couch and a sofa, microwave and fridge.
My family and I stay here every year for the past few years when we come to Altoona for our family reunion and the staff is always very accommodating. This was the most crowded the hotel has been due to another reunion party as well as a wedding party but the staff seemed to handle things pretty well. We had a little surprise party for my aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary in the party/conference room and the staff was awesome in helping with the surprise aspect. My only negative is that the towel racks in the showers could use some Barkeeper's friend because they are very rusty. Other than that it was a nice experience. Rooms: Come with all standard amenities, full bathroom, tv, mini fridge, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, etc. Food & drinks: 2 vending machines, small market at front desk, complimentary breakfast, coffee available all day.
My wife and I stayed at Comfort Suites near Altoona for two nights and we were impressed by the hotel. We were there to visit family. The large elevator to fit our large packing & my wheelchair was convenient. The room was spacious, clean, & comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. The hotel is located off I99 in a quiet area. We woke up to the surrounding rolling hills from our window, a serene & relaxing sight that added to our experience. The free breakfast was just right for us. The staff was very friendly, helpful, & accommodating, especially the housekeepers who made sure we had everything we needed. As a person who uses a mechanical wheelchair, I appreciated the accessibility of the room and the hotel facilities. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, spacious hotel off I99 near Altoona. For wheelchair accessibility, it is underrated & deserves more recognition. This is a great choice if you’re visiting from out of town. I was reluctant to book because of the quality I’ve experienced at other Choice hotels, but this one was different. We’ll definitely be back when we’re in town again.Hotel highlightsKid-friendly, Great value
The elevator did not work. They charged me $187 for a second room when one room could accommodate my whole party. No pool towels. Breakfast wasn't very good. Pool light was knocked off the pool inner wall by kids playing roughly. The pool was very dangerous for a beginner swimmer. The rope was not up between the 4 and 5 foot I didn't realize the floor dropped off and I went under. Thank God that my kids were able to grab me and pull me up to save me from drowning. Rooms: Rooms very expensive but spacious. Not enough towels for the amount of guests. Safety: No elevator so it was not handicap accessible. Pool light ripped from pool wall with loose wires just hanging there bare in the water.
