I'm so glad I decided to take the course here. Instructors were SO nice. They're not intimidating at all, they don't try to make you feel stupid, and they're very patient with you. Plus there were 8 or 9 instructors for one class, I don't think any one else has that many. The atmosphere was calm, relaxing, and friendly. I left there today very educated on everything I needed to know and I passed with great scores on the written and range tests. They also give you EVERYTHING you need to apply for your license. It was so much fun and every single staff member was AMAZING. I will definitely be coming back for additional courses.
I did a month or so of research for a good place to obtain the training to receive my CHL and selected Commence Fire. I was scheduled to take a class towards February but received a call Friday night that there was an opening for a Saturday class which I preferred due to my work schedule and I jumped at the opportunity to take it. There was a wide variety of experience of students in the class which was a positive thing to see how they handled everyone. Myself being around firearms my whole life they made even the basic fundamentals of safety and firearm functionality enjoyable. This class was compromised of multiple instructors whom would take over for certain subjects to break up the continuity of one person speaking for 7 or so hours. The class flew by and before I knew it the classroom session was over. It always felt like a 1:1 student/instructor ratio on the range. Yes I'm sure you could find a cheaper place who does it in less time but I'm confident in saying you won't have the best experience or live training. They cut the fluff and prepare you for survival and get your mind mentality right for deadly force use. I will for sure be back for even more training and hopefully have my significant other take the CHL class as well. Great job from everyone at Commence Fire.
Karen and I never fired a fire arm before this class, the instructors were top notch in every aspect of their instructions. George was assigned to my wife and he was beyond belief as a teacher. We're planning to sign up for additional classes to give myself and my wife additional training. Keith Campbell and his wife Cindy were very informative on how the class would be handled over the phone and everything went as described. The class was about 20 folks and it was just the right size so everyone was assigned a qualified instructor.
The instructors really do care about what they teach. I took the concealed weapon course just as a refresher as it had been ten years since my previous course. I really felt like I learned a lot. The instructors are very friendly. They teach more than just the state requirements. Even if you have limited/ no experience with firearms the instructors will get you comfortable with handling a firearm
The instructors are knowledgeable, professional, and personable. They take the time to answer all questions and concerns students may have, and give attention to students, both as a group, and individually. I highly recommend Commence Firearms Training Academy, they are outstanding!!
The instructors were very knowledgeable and gave off a comfortable vibe. To be honest I was actually dreading the whole CHL course experience but after the moment I entered the building I enjoyed every minute of it. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Great people to learn about firearms from. I took the Basic Marksmanship Skills and the Shoot with the Instructor remember not to drop the word "with", please courses already. They are very experienced and scientific in their approach. They can tell what you are doing wrong just by looking at the pattern of your shots on the target. They are very friendly and enthusiastic, and of course take safety VERY seriously. I will be back for another round of Shoot with the Instructor, and if I ever decide to go back and get my conceal carry license, it will be with them.
The experience with the entire staff at Commence Fire was first class, from the initial emails to the genuine handshakes at the end of the day. The word that keeps coming to mind about my experience is "complete." When you take the class you receive the required training, yes, but also the photo, application and other materials necessary to complete the CHL process. But there is something more. A CHL is serious business. The staff at Commence Fire understand that mental strength is the most important part. Yes, they can teach you about the various laws regarding where you can carry. They can help you learn double-action from single-action. They can even help you hit the target square much more often than you thought you could. None of those things mean anything unless you are mentally prepared. Mental preparation is as much about when to retreat as when to fire. No one can make those decisions for you. The intent comes from the individual. The crew at Commence Fire provides a firm foundation for building and maintaining the mental component. Confidence and determination are the end result. I will certainly be back for additional classes and warmly recommend Commence Fire. No experience? No problem, as the saying goes. Novices are embraced, educated and given a great start. The ratio of instructors to students was 3:1 and each student had an instructor at the range. Amazing. All criticism was constructive. Concerned about the atmosphere? No worries. My particular class of 27 was roughly 50/50, male and female. Owners Keith and Cynthia genuinely care and want everyone to succeed. The attitude throughout the day is one of integrity with a sense of humor built around a family atmosphere.
Want your CCW? This is where you need to look. Took this one day class with my dad, and could not be happier. They have the BEST instructors...lead instructor runs the police academy at Tri-C and is in charge of training at a major metropolitan department. They were so professional, helpful, respectful, and PASSIONATE about the course. These people went out of there way to make sure we learned what we needed to know. The instructors were not boring at all and the class flew by. Lunch is included, as is time for a quick dinner after the exam. Everything was done with an incredible emphasis on safety. There were both people who hadn't picked up a gun in their life, and those who spent time in the military taking the course. Everyone was treated respectfully and given CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. If you look take your class anywhere else, you must be trying to cut corners. DON'T CUT CORNERS. Don't take other classes that offer to give you the class for a fraction of the price for a fraction of the state mandated hours. You need to know the information, and why not be taught by professional instructors in such a great environment? Fast paced class, for those who are ready to protect themselves. Thank you Commence Fire!! I will be back.
Not just a class but a life investment. The education was very thorough, constructive, and enjoyable. The instructors genuinely care about their job and you can tell. I will be returning for further courses!
