Reclaim, Revive And Rebuild DeKalb.
Gregory Adams is a family man. A father of 6 who has vigorously served DeKalb County as a community leader and activist for more than 16 years. Adams is no stranger to service, he has advocated for and represented taxpayers in both Fulton and DeKalb counties.
It was in elementary school when Adams began serving by becoming a "School Patrolman." He continued serving by enlisting in the United States Army and later taught on the art of warfare at West Point Academy. Adams served in the DeKalb County Police Department from 2007-2011. Inspired by and determined to promote safety, he put himself in harm’s way to protect the residents of DeKalb County. He resigned from the police force in 2011 to pursue his passion and commitment to help re-establish DeKalb County, as a safe community, one in which we can all be proud of, by becoming a candidate for DeKalb CEO. After the election he continued to serve as a Police officer with Emory Police Department where he saw the need to properly serve the community and decided to run for a DeKalb County Commissioner and despite the outcomes continued to serve. Adams has proven that he is committed to serving the citizens of DeKalb and has remained focused on what he has instilled in his children that "A winner never quits and quitter never wins!"
In addition to being employed as a police officer, Adams has managed several companies as well as launched his own successful businesses including Adams Transportation, A & G Transportation, A & A Transportation and a hair salon, Simply Class by Jackie. He is currently Chief Operating Officer of Project3Sixty, a nonprofit organization and Director of D.R.R.L.L (Discipline Respect Responsibility Leadership and Love) youth mentoring program.
Adams is an advocate for educating youth and helping them strive for success. He mentors and encourages young people to pursue higher education and to be deliberate about the company they keep. Adams believes that, “Success is not given—it is obtained. Nothing beats a failure, but a try.”
Gregory Adams has been married to his lovely wife Jacqueline for 31 years. They are proud parents of 6 children and 8 grandchildren.
