Commonwealth Industrial Services, Inc. (CIS) is an industrial services company located in Hopewell, Virginia. Although historically a service business, CIS’ primary profit center is the packaging and resale of ammonium sulfate. Other profit centers include chemical processing and bagging, warehousing, rail reloads (lumber, metals, aggregates, etc), public truck scales, and transportation services in support of CIS operations.
Commonwealth Industrial Services (CIS) is dedicated to the needs of its customers. Since 1984 it has provided highly reliable and competitive industrial services to industrial plants in Hopewell Virginia; these services include packaging and distribution, Warehousing and Inventory Management, Rail Reloading and delivery services for CSXT and Norfolk Southern customers (e.g, ALCOA and ProBuild), and Truck Weighs for industrial commerce. CIS for over six years has facilitated the export of over 10,000 containers of first grade product from the Hopewell Honeywell Plant. CIS also provides accurate, safe, and economical warehousing support for Evonik Chemicals.
