I have a 2022 health plan with automatic payment through my credit card each month. This company withdraws my money for payment every month, then cancels my insurance in August. I didn't even know that because I did have any need for a doctor visit. Last payment was withdrawn from my credit card in October-15-222 I needed medical attention,called the doctor, low and behold I was told my insurance is not active. I was in shock, and told the doctor's office that it must be a mistake because the payment was active as of October because I get an email for a thank you for payment confirmation every month. The payment withdrawal posted on my credit card statement each month. I called customer service, they confirmed that the payment has been active every month till last month October and they do not know why the insurance was canceled in August. And they do not know how to reinstate my insurance back. I was on the phone for more than 5 hrs and spoke to 5 different agents none of them was able to help. Finally, one agent was able to create a case with a 72hrs window to resolve the issue, still waiting. I have to go to a private doctor for my medical needs. I will make sure that they refund me for this medical expense. I would give them a negative -0 star if that is available.
Customer service is good. Never really had any major procedures so I can’t speak to having claims denied but I did not have any issues reaching someone when needed. Decent selection of doctors and they have a great rewards program that gives back in gift cards for doing basic things to keep you healthy or informed like getting flu shots, annual checkups and more.
I was positively surprised by this provider. I had my silver plan for one year: my experience was always positive: Easy to find a provider online, easy to talk to a rep and have changes made, affordable copays. I really liked Community Health choice! The price went up so I will try a different supplier for 2023.
STAY AWAY! Terrible insurance provider. They will deny your claims very fast. They will make it very difficult to appeal. They do not take care of their members. You are just a paycheck to them nothing more. You've been warned. I had my wife drop them the minute we had to use them. It was a nightmare having to deal with this company. I am a registered nurse and this is one of the worse insurances out there. Save yourself the headache and find a different company.
I'm having a bad service experience. I have paid the premium for January 2023 in the last month. But our family did not receive the insurance card for 2023. Medical institutions can't find our insurance information either. All clinic appointments are stopped. My wife and I waited at the clinic for an hour and couldn't get our insurance information back. I called you and answered that you can give me a new insurance card on January 7th. But you don't. The insurance card cannot be checked or downloaded on your website. I have paid your insurance premium, but you have not provided me with insurance services, have you breached the contract?
I have utilized Community Health Choice during all of 2022 and experienced no issues whatsoever, even having a major procedure hip replacement. I like to utilize services within the Houston Methodist system and everything and every provider that I needed was in network and covered appropriately. When I needed assistance with anything, I was able to utilize the chat option on the website and received quick help. I had no issues with premium payments. And I enjoyed the rewards system for preventative care.
When I first bought my policy with Community Health Choice I had awesome coverage, but over the years I had less coverage with higher premium rates. Coverage is great for doctor visits and prescription drugs but for surgery and imaging it is not as good. Customer service is good.
It’s really frustrating when your on hold for so long and only to get transferred to another # because the department can’t help you. All I wanted was my baby to be linked to my insurance and instead they did a new enrollment for a different insurance and now I have to pay out of pocket. Do to the mistake a representative did. It’s a long story of problems talking with the representative but all it comes down to is lack of listening to what I needed help with. There got to a point one lady got mad at me for asking the same question. I honestly don’t know anything abt this specific thing so I expect them to have the answer it’s there job. I felt like they wouldn’t save my information. They even hung up the phone on me. I have not shown them any type of frustration but I decided that it’s time to put a review of my experience. I loved the insurance it’s super helpful being apart of it but The REPRESENTATIVES need to listen better and help the customer because we don’t always know what to do so that’s why we call YOU!
This was a 2 star rating only because the CSR who finally helped me was courteous, competent and got my questions resolved quickly. If not for her, the experience was dismal and would have received zero stars. Hours on hold, promised call backs did not happen, and text messaging never responded to. All of this in over a week of attempts.
I've been using community Health Choice as my insurance provider for the last 5 years. I have received nothing but excellent service. If I have any questions, they are quick to respond and if a solution is needed, we find one. I look forward to a new year with great health care coverage when I need it!
