The Community Food Pantry of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow serves community residents who are hungry with monthly grocery distributions.
Volunteers are needed twice a month. There are opportunities for adults and young adults. Contact volunteer coordinator Rachelle Gebler at [email protected] for details!
We prepare for distribution on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 7 to 8:30 PM, shelving and organizing foods. Young adults are welcome.
Distributions are the 2nd Thursday of the month, from 8:30 to 10:30 AM and again from 6:30 to 8 PM. Volunteers work with clients and check in and as they select groceries. Adult volunteers only work with clients. Spanish is helpful but not necessary. While the work does not necessarily involve heavy-lifting, it is quite active.
