Concern for Neighbors Food Bank
A Community Food Bank serving those in need living in Brier, Mountlake Terrace and parts of Lynnwood, Washington.
Our History: The churches of South Snohomish County began the Concern for Neighbors Food Bank in 1971. It started in the basement of the home adjacent to the current location where five volunteers served 18 clients.
Today - we have our own warehouse, two trucks, and two shipping containers for storage and approximately 60 volunteers. We are a member of the Snohomish County Food Bank Coalition that consists of 20 local food banks that pool their food purchasing dollars to help those in need.
Our food supplies come from a variety of locations including Northwest Harvest, Volunteers of America, Snohomish County Food Coalition, Food Lifeline, local grocery store donations, scouts, schools, churches, company food drives and the local community. We use the generous cash donations from the community to purchase additional food and dairy products.
We also provide government commodities each month from TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program).
Boxes of additional commodities through CSFP go to low income seniors and children who do not qualify for WIC.
Our Mission
To reach out to hungry neighbors with supplemental and nutritious food items.
