Congregation B'nai Israel, Toms River, NJ

About

Congregation B'nai Israel is a Conservative Synagogue that plays a central role in the Jewish life of Ocean County.

Description

Everyone, at every level of Jewish involvement, is welcomed. We make a special effort to reach out to interfaith families. Our community celebrates each other's joyous life cycle events and mourns each other's losses. Warm and meaningful services are led by Rabbi Ellen S. Wolintz-Fields and Cantor Steven Walvick. A daily morning minyan is conducted 365 days a year. We take great pride in our educational programs, from preschool to Hebrew high school and adult education. The social events of Sisterhood, Men's Club, and Hazak provide opportunities for new members to make friends and feel at home in our synagogue. We offer an array of activities for children of all age levels through our wonderful U.S.Y., Kadima, and Tzofim youth groups.

Mission

Our mission is to assure the continued vibrancy of our Jewish community by providing a wide spectrum of religious, educational, cultural and social programs for all age groups.

This synagogue is more like a church. They don’t keep Jewish laws. The rabbis running this synagogue allow people to drive to synagogue and they serve non kosher food. It’s best to go to an orthodox shul
All good except we were there for a Funeral.
An active, welcoming community we're proud to be a part of.
Grew up in this shul. I have only positive things to say.
