Congregation Mishkan Tefila is the oldest Conservative synagogue in New England. Its growth parallels the remarkable development of the Boston Jewish Community, from a handful of immigrants to a vibrant and responsive component of American society.
Congregation Mishkan Tefila is an egalitarian congregation, affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, founded in 1858. Nestled in the woods in Chestnut Hill and minutes from downtown Boston, we warmly welcome all in the community to join us for prayer, learning, cultural and social programs, social action and friendship. We are proud of our rich traditions that include a vibrant musical program and strong connections to the State of Israel. Our future will be built around new partnerships, creativity, hospitality and creating multiple gateways to a richer Jewish life.
