Convivium Osteria

About

Convivium Osteria is one of the most authentic and romantic restaurants in Brooklyn preparing traditional Italian recepes.

Description

Convivium Osteria is one of the most authentic and romantic restaurants in Brooklyn preparing Italian cuisine combining the old world culinary and aesthetic traditions of Italy with a nod to Spain and Portugal, all using fresh and natural ingredients. Attention to details are important for us, like where our meat and produce come from, the homemade pasta we make daily, and the house baked desserts prepared daily. We only use meat from naturally raised animals and we buy our fruit and produce from local organic farmers, whenever possible, to provide you with the freshest and most delicious ingredients.

On our menu you will find traditional dishes like Carciofo alla Romana and Gnudi di spinaci with an asigo sauce. A lot of our cuisine is built upon simple, clean dishes like the grilled baby octopus salad and whole roasted seabass. For a more hearty meal, try the pan roasted quail with figs and a port wine reduction, or our pine nut crusted rack of lamb. Also we present our 48 oz. Painted hills farm ribeye for two, a natural beef presented whole on wooden tablets and sliced table side. Cap off a delightful meal by adding one of our 300+ wines. We select a wide variety of unique wines at all price points, so we have something for everyone.

At Convivium Osteria, our cuisine and wine reflect a love for Italian tradition with inspirations from the Iberian Peninsula, and we want to make you feel as if you are skipping away to the Italian countryside each time you pull up a chair at one of our tables. Join us in our casually elegant environment for a meal you won’t forget.

Always a great experience when you come here for dinner. Seating downstairs in the wine cellar is always nice when with a bigger group. There is a reason this place has been here so long — great service and food!
Great food, great service in an amazing wine cellar. Had the Caesar salad and the fettuccine. It is a pricey so look up the menu ahead of time. Parking: Street parking only Wheelchair accessibility: No wheel chair access to the wine cellar
Tip: ask to be seated in the wine cellar if there's availability! Great ambience! Amazing service! Great foodexcept for the chicken!Dine in: Yes
Perfect date night spot, or to bring out of town family. Precise, well executed northern Italian worthy of it's Michelin star at an incredible value for money. It's so good it should have a line down the street, but doesn't yet. Wine list is intelligently designed and regional, service is spot on but unpretentious. I speak as a CMS somm who has worked decades in high end: this is where industry people go on a Monday night date when they want everything to be exactly right without any fuss. At the same time, it's not threateningly original; you can take your small town family members here when they're visiting and they won't be weirded out, but you won't be bored and annoyed. Sophisticated enough for NYC without being too Brooklyn weird for middle America. Brilliant. Get in while you still can; I anticipate in the near future they'll be booked out for months in advance.
Fantastic food. Strong wine list. Gorgeous decor. Super romantic setting—probably the prettiest restaurant in the area, especially if you want an intimate date and candlelight vibes. The experience is damaged somewhat by weak service. No water glasses filled when we sat down. Waiter took 15 minutes to arrive at our table even when we were the early shift. The orders were delivered accurately, which is the main thing, but then the waiter disappeared again and I had to go to the register to get my check and pay. They weren’t rude, just inattentive and poorly trained. Would be five stars if they can get their waitstaff management figured out.
Excellent service. They were busy but attentive. Came to Park Slope for dinner and the food was very good, I would recommend it to those looking for a romantic Italian spot in that neighborhood. Table ordered Burrata, Caesar, Artichoke, Shrimp, Tagliatelle, Linguini, Lasagna, and Lamb. We had an excellent time, but didn’t leave feeling like I had to come back tomorrow . The wine cellar was closed but we had a peak downstairs and it was very charming. The whole place is charming, just not mind blowing. The good news is, most people prefer to just be charmed.
Underwhelming. Had the ravioli, lasagna, rabbit, octopus, shrimp, and sea bass fish of the day. The ravioli was especially confusing - being very sweet yet ladled with Bolognese made it unclear whether it was a main course or a dessert. The sea bass was well cooked, however, lacked sufficient seasoning. The rabbit was somewhat dry and tough. Lasagna was nothing to write home about. Overall, had higher expectations, though the atmosphere was very cozy and romantic.
Great food, wine and decor. Had dinner at the wine cellar, which I didn’t even know they had. The cured meat plate, Lasagna, Octopus and Ravioli - all were very goodRecommended dishesRavioli with Duck
Amazing experience on Christmas Eve. They had an outstanding pre fixe with many options for anyone. The service is very attentive and the manager Angel very knowledge about food and wine. Overall I fantastic dinner. Im coming back for NYE.
Three trips to the Friuli region recently cancelled!! Luckily a trip to Brooklyn to visit our daughter brought us a step closer to Italy. Real authentic Italian dishes offered and all of ours were delicious. No picture of the polenta with oyster mushrooms & taleggio cheese but it was incredible. Looks like we will be visiting Our daughter more often.
