Conway Behavioral allowed the Arkansas School Counselor Association use their facilities for the annual board members’ Leadership Development Institute. As an ArSCA board member, I was so impressed at how clean and beautiful the building and grounds were, and Becca and Michelle were excellent hosts! Thank y’all so much!
My daughter is in the adolescent unit right now. It's incredibly hard to speak to her. Phone hours are from 6 to 9. But every employee I speak to amends the policy differently. My daughter has seen other patients touching themselves inappropriately at food times. She has witnessed nurses attacking patients trying to escape. She has seen patients attacked for using racist language. She's had more panic attacks in the last 5 days than she's had all year. Panic attacks caused by staff yelling. This place is for thugs. Not for kids with suicidal ideologies. Don't send your kids here. It's traumatic.
My experience with CBH has been Wonderful , I didn’t realize how sick I was upon admission, the staff for the most part are AMAZING in my opinion the top tier staff was Grace Tech on Autumn she is so sweet and attentive goes above and beyond what is needed and asked of her . And Ashley who works wherever she is needed oh and Aston he looks intimidating but he’s not , Lastly there are two who deserve A Shoutout !! It does not take anyway from the important of the other staff however they go beyond what is asked of them the PA Ms.Stephanie and Jessica the director of social services , without these individuals in my sincerest posting of this review I would have not made it to a healthy point . Psych wards are scary for some people the bad review are the personal experiences of others please don’t let that dictate you reaching out it’s what you make it !!! Recovery is hard but the journey is walked easier when you have the right skills in place .. I thank every one who contributed to my ongoing recovery .. if I had to go again I wouldn’t hesitate to attend this facility !!!! Be safe and Take care of yourself !!
I was brought here after a mental health crisis and was put into the impatient adolescent unite. the staff complained multiple times about having to work there in front of patients and were overall uncaring. The treatment patients received was non existent and at time flat out violent. I would absolutely not recommend this place for anyone who wants to get better.
This facility has gone downhill tremendously since they opened. I went in 2018 & 2019 and had very helpful visits. After my most recent visit, I would never recommend this facility to ANYONE. My clothes were mixed up with two other patients’ belongings upon admission. I was initially prescribed meds that I told several people during admission that I’m allergic to. Group therapy has been cut from 3x daily to once daily, usually only lasting about half an hour. The patient to staff ratio is horribly imbalanced. Kitchen staff are rude as hell. They don’t care if you don’t like what they’re serving, they’d rather you not eat than provide you with a PREMADE sandwich that is right there on the counter. Outside time is supposed to be 5x daily for 30 mins apiece, and most of the time, this was cut down to 10 minutes. The only people I found helpful and would like to recognize are Megan nurse, Ashton, Kyia, and Nancy Autumn techs.
Honestly there was more bad things than good. There was about 3 weekday morning nurses that I absolutely loved. The foreign lady, the older African American woman who cleans sometimes and another that I can’t remember the name of. Grace was pretty cool too. The rest of them acted as if we didn’t exist, our opinions didn’t matter and honestly didn’t do their job. They were rude when you asked questions, even a simple question like can you unlock the bathroom. Most of them sat on their phones. Moving on to the actual treatment. The treatment here was non existent, I never seen an in person doctor the whole time I was there this also happened the last time I was here it took days to get my rash cream that I needed, I never once seen a therapist or had any one on one therapy. Groups were a joke, they were maybe once a day if lucky. Not on weekends. And all we did was worksheets printed off from the internet and read out loud our answers. Most of the people on my floor wanted to AMA, people weren’t watched or checked on properly and you had to act out to get what you needed. They also took my blanket away, my comfort item, yet a bunch of others had blankets out and they said something to them, but the others were African American so there was some racism going on there also a person was bullying me and they seen him do it and didn’t nothing about it. The food was decent, childlike portions, bed was decent, my sheet had mold on it and I had to ask for another one. Overall I left feeling like I didn’t get the help I needed .
I am going to write an honest and point to earth review…. So in the beginning of my treatment plan was in processing for out patient. The admissions nurse told me that I can receive med management and see a doctor three days a week. That wasn’t the case when our out patient therapist told me that is only in-patient. So I felt manipulated and lied to just so they can receive my money. Second… whenever I was wanting to file a complaint against the doctor who only seen myself and others one time. Due to him “avoiding” us or they just have a lack of staffing… The Human Resources lady said she would get some guy who is the patient advocate. I had to wait a whole hour just to see him. Then whenever I tried to leave to go to my last out patient service group. The same admissions nurse from week prior didn’t let me out and asked my name and stared at me. I had to repeatedly tell her I have discharged and I would like to go to my last group. She then let me out. Avoid this place at all cost. Seriously it will save you $$$
The employees at Conway Behavioral Health care deeply for the patients in the facility. They work hard to ensure all patients are treated like the patient is someone in their own family. The facility is very neat and clean as well!
The only good thing about here was the food and some of the workers. The night shift people were great. I was attacked during shift change and nobody knew about it foe about 5 minutes I was thrown on the ground and hit my head very hard and got kicked in the eye, I had a concussion and they didn't do anything about it the only reason I know I had one was because I went to the doctor about it when I got out, same night my heart rate was 200s and they did nothing about it and left me in my room almost passing out. Ms Erin was the best person there when I got there she checked me in and made sure I was comfortable. When I said I hadn't eaten since lunch and it was 1130 at night she found me some food. And once I started having an allergic reaction same night she immediately called the doctor on call and got me some benadryl, she is amazing and I will never forget her
The staff does not care about the patients and their wellbeing. I saw multiple patients get pushed to the point of panic attacks because of staff yelling and getting in their face for no good reason. They lack basic respect and training. Do not go here or send your child here. More harm was caused then good.
