If you ever have the chance to move to Conway, do it. Do it as fast as you absolutely can. I have lived in 9 cities around the USA before finding Conway. I am constantly impressed with how well this town runs. It's amazing. Simply amazing. First, when you register a car in Mass, it's a NIGHTMARE. You're in line for over an hour, with your horde of papers, utility bills, bank statements, etc. And if anything isn't right, you have to go back home, and get back in line. Conway, on the other hand, is Amazing. You go to the DMV once by appointment, for a very quick / efficient visit to get your license. Then, everything else car related is at the town clerk. This is the way government should run. I have registered a numbers of cars / motorcycles here. Some of them are really weird old cars that need help. Instead of sending me home like other states, they solve the problem with you, while you're waiting there, even if it means phone calls to the state. It's amazing. Also, in 10+ visits, I waited in line once. For 5 minutes. When it was my turn, Jolene apologized for the wait. I almost died. In fact, this place is so well run, I donated money to them. Have you ever been so happy with your car registration experience, etc that you wanted to donate money to the state? It's that good. Bottom line -- as soon as you move here, you will wish you had done it years ago.
I have been here four times to register a vehicle and have only been successful once. It is like they legally have to make everything as difficult as possible.
1 star for failing to understand what a mural is and for intentionally violating 1st Amendment rights. You politicians aren't American, you're just callous money hungry heathens trying to profit off the innocent. I hope your town runs you out of office.
Government never deserves five stars, and the fees here are outrageous for a municipality funded through citizen extortion. But, the clerks were friendly and reasonably efficient.
Our country, let alone our smaller municipalities scattered across the United States, need to take a look at where our money IS being spent, let alone the people who have been raised in these towns and have chosen to stay in these towns to keep them viable. Small towns and the small town business owners are the life blood to keep our towns alive and more than that take the Donut store painting, as opposed to threatening $275 daily fines, and yes THAT IS A THREAT to that business and its ability to keep the lights on. Instead of threatening them and forcing concern and legal action. They deserve recognition for getting the youth of the city, the next group of people to say I want to live here, or I can't wait to get out of this pile of a town. To do something that makes them feel like a part of town. Building Inspection/Code Enforcement Personnel: David Pandora – Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer and Health Inspector Jeremy Gibbs – Assistant Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer Jacqueline White – Administrative Assistant How much money is spent on mundane jobs that can be done by the city workers that plow snow, patch holes in the road. I think it's clear where the importance of a painted building falls on the scale. -Building inspector -Health Inspector -Code Enforcement......... call me crazy but is covered by Inspection of Building and Health. Instead of threatening small businesses, I would think that the citizens of the city should take note and vote on the job David and Jeremy did throughout the Covid coverage. Was their job done well and did they protect the city and it's people? How many citizens passed during their watch. Is the funding of 3 people needed or nessasary per capita of the number of citizens. Pick your battles and remember, city officials work for the citizens, not the otherway around. All the best and keep control over your city.
The sign police and town council are acting like a HOA that likes to exercise their power even it it tramples on other people's rights!! This is so ridiculous, I honestly hope the owner of the bakery wins this suit! You all should be ashamed of yourselves over causing such a fuss over something so petty!
Another code enforcement officer that hates freedom. Nothing like bringing communism to a small town near you through narrow minded officials that hate their community and don’t care about the constitution at all. LOL “Live free or die” from town officials that hate liberty. Oh the irony!
Just watch something on how yall wont let a donut shop keep a mural up. So i hope anyone who lives there votes all in charge out and i hope no one visits your badly run town. Have a good one.
This is the ugliest building in the whole state. I can only imagine what kind of shananigans goes on behind those walls. Shameful
Why can't a person put a sign on top of their business? It's not like it's right by a road. It's litterally on top of the building, taking up no room at all that wasn't already up.
