CMC holds an active role in the Adel-Cook County community. CMC is a corporate sponsor for The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Greater Cook County Area and Relay for Life, and employees hold leadership roles in many local civic organizations. CMC is an active member of the Adel-Cook County Chamber of Commerce, and serves as a Partner in Excellence with the Cook County School System.
LIFEnet is CMC's program dedicated to helping people ages 55 and older live healthier, more fulfilling lives. It's all about LIFE: Living It to the Fullest Every day.
LIFEnet creates a strong, local connection for its members by being part of a community hospital like Cook Medical Center. This great program places emphasis on health information and healthy lifestyles, while incorporating special events, day trips, and exercise classes for its members. Exercise classes are offered at the Delle Beamguard Center every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
The Junior Board of Directors (JBOD) for Cook Medical Center consists of Senior students from Cook High School in Adel. Members of the Junior Board of Directors will learn how a hospital is operated behind the scenes, current events and trends in healthcare, and the steps to take when considering pursing a career as a healthcare professional. Members will serve as ambassadors in their school and in the community for Cook Medical Center. JBOD members will assist with marketing and public relations events and activities.
