Cooksville Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1967 when community members decided a fire department closer to their residence was needed.
Cooksville Volunteer Fire Department serves the community in the south western portion of Catawba County. We are currently at an ISO rating of 9s and working towards improving this. We operate with a roster of 35 plus members who are all volunteer. We have 5 Officers Chief Peter Weinrich, Assistant Chief Michael Gouge, Captain Bruce Reed, Captain Bain Weinrich, and Lieutenant Ernest McSwain. Cooksville Volunteer Fire Department is diverse in the calls we run. Currently we handle all Fire related calls in our district. We also assist and handle incidents including. Cardiac arrest, Hazardous Materials, Motor Vehicle Accidents, and many other situations that we may be called to. We currently have 6 apparatus Engine-141, Engine-142, Tanker-143, Brush-144, Engine-145, and Truck-146. For further information on fire department operations call 704-462-2127
