Cooper House, located in Persons Hall, is the first year dormitory for girls at Darlington School. By offering more structure and support, first-year houses prepare students for their eventual transition to the upper houses by instilling in them a sense of self-respect, self-worth and self-confidence. A handful of student leaders from the upper grades serve as mentors, living alongside the newest Darlington Tigers and helping them to adjust to their home away from home. Lessons about time management, study skills and exam preparation are also integrated into house life so that students are prepared for Darlington’s challenging coursework.
