If you keep your expectations low, you will not be disappointed. I saw the menu online, and I had biscuits and gravy on my mind. Only customer at 1145, placed my order, very nice waitress comes back a few minutes later, to apologize, they are out of biscuits. Then I ordered the breakfast burger, medium rare, with fries. Burger arrives medium well, blackened; tastes like grill scrapings. In my opinion, the fries were undercooked. Food was edible, but disappointing. I guess there is a reason why there were only two of us in this restaurant at 1230 on a Tuesday.
Very nice decor. Nice paintings and table decorations. Nice selection of music playing from JBL speakers. Nice staff so far answered questions very professionally. Our waiters name was Katie who was very nice... Updating this review as I go. First impression started off as 3 stars. Cornbread was not as hot as I would hoped for. Future reference could maybe put them inside a small basket to keep the heat instead of on a plate where it loses temperature. Also counted at least 10 flies. Not good to keep swatting away while talking with someone and trying to eat. They didnt come until we got our plates. Meatloaf didnt taste like actual meat, more like mush with barbecue sauce on top. The candied yams were dry, very dry. The pintos were bland until I added the chow-chow. The collard greens were crunch and undercooked. Mac n cheese was edible. The Loaded Chicken was the best thing on the menu. Omg, very delicious.
Outstanding experience. To be honest it's way more than I expected from a little town I've been driving through forever. Food was well seasoned and the service was prompt. I'm not sure why the reviews are so low. I assume they've made some changes. I'll put this place on my rotation.
Worst service we have ever had my son didn't get his food till we were all done eating. Had to walk up to waiter with our empty cups to get drink refills. Gravy tasted like dishwater. I am very disappointed will not be returning
