I don't know about all the services there. But, the Corpus Christi Department of Vital Statistics made it quick and painless to pick up a birth certificate in person. In and out in about 5 minutes.
I like the staff behaviour. They are so friendly and helpful. ##Birth Certificate section will be closed from 11:45AM-1:00PM##
Just moved here in July and seriously questioning it. The roads are absolutely horrible. Vehicles are just rattling apart. Trash, including furniture just laying around. Dangerous animals running loose, call and report, still nothing. Wake up to dead cats in your yard. Stray animals everywhere. Neighbors are constantly complaining about this place and have lived here alot longer than I. DO BETTER!!!
Kudos to the wastewater department. I called around 8 pm on a Sunday night to report a backed up sewage line. Someone came to my house in less than a hour and cleared the blockage. I also have been very pleased with the response time from the street department when I have reported potholes. They generally have been fixed within a week.
After 22 years of living at my address the city finally fixed the street in front of my house. I now have more grass to cut. I called on April 25, 2022 at 2:38 and informed the city that the street sign cement anchors were left on the grass. Blocks of cement were left behind where the old street signed were placed. The street signs were moved 3 times. No one came out to fill my request. I called back on June 13 at 9:20AM to find out what happened. I was told a work order was never placed and that I had not called them for services in a few years. I then stated my concern again and I was told someone would be out to observe. City workers came out to take pictures and see the cement that needs to be removed on Jun 15 at 11:18AM and did not return. I called today June 21 at 11:15 and spoke to Angie. She informed me that a work order did not exist and that it would take a month for any work to get done. She said I should receive a phone call today with information concerning the issue. I still have not received a work order number on this issue reported since April 25. On another note: It took a full week, numerous emails, and an hour and a half of waiting on the phone to get my name changed on my bill. Each email I received was from a totally different person that may not even be aware of previous email correspondences. First it was Stacy, then it was Selena and finally Karen was able to untangle the web of emails to finally change my maiden name. Someone needs to take stock of the current service practices and make systemic changes. What seemed like a quick easy small request turned into a web of miscommunication, inconsistency, and a tremendously large amount of wait time. This matter was presented on June 13 and did not get resolved till today June 21. I was directed to the Utilities business office and then to the Resolution dept. Something is wrong too many hands in the pot make things very complicated. Concerned Taxpayer,
The woman in birth and death certificate section needs to calm her attitude down. I was holding my toddler and combing through my purse for something and she couldn't stop going on about a clipboard she could've handed to someone herself. Needless to say but she was very rude, self entitled and if the city can't afford another chipboard Corpus is doomed. Better staff are needed that know how to act in proper society.
There's SOOOOOOOOO much trash all over this city and the way the 1% have left their many buildings and rental properties to rot is a disgrace! An eyesore of the Gulf Coast. Do better for your people.
Professional, Helpful, and Kind. Thank you: to the security guard, and most particularly to the young professional women in the vital statistics office. I apologize for not calling you by name.
Staff there is rude and rushed me through paperwork while they saw I had my hands full with kids. If the city can't even afford seating in what is supposed to be one of the most important buildings in town I hope to never live in such a poor town again.
These individuals are doing everything they can to scam the population if you have a choice do not use them you'll regret every interaction you have with them
