Sunrise Mall is perfect for those in seek of nostalgic vibes rather than a true shopping experience. Featured in Dan Bell's "Dead Mall Series" on YouTube, this place truly is as much as a ghost town as he makes it out to be. A mall once bustling in the 1980s and having been a stage for the film "The Legend of Billy Jean", this place is truly a relic stuck in time. Having not been renovated since then, this mall has been dead for the past 3 decades but still manages to stay alive. It truly gives off a nostalgic and depressing atmosphere, although exciting and intriguing at the same time. The only anchors that remain are Burlington and Sears, there are no more than about 15 stores in this entire mall. Most notably, they offer an arcade, dollar cinema not anymore I believe??, and galaxy golf. There's even a church in the right wing of the mall. I personally enjoyed the food offered at Pretzel World, the employee was extremely friendly and seemed to beam with all of the energy the void mall once had. I would most certainly recommend Sunrise Mall as a destination for those seeking a ghost town/vintage/nostalgic vibe, as this place is truly unique and one of a kind. It holds a special place in my heart and I hope to visit again soon.
I visited this mall the other day, and the shops were great! The atmosphere was really nice and nostalgic. It took me back to the 80s! However, finding an entrance was harder than it used to be back in 2018, and the local police, and security harassed me for no reason! Overall, I think this mall might be abandoned...
Mall access is closed! Why does Google Maps keep saying that the mall is open? Freedom Fitness, Planet Fitness, and Bel Furniture are OUTSIDE the mall. Please do not confuse people and say it's open. This is an abandoned mall. As seen by the broken windows in the picture. There's also a picture of the inside somewhere here, the mall seems to be vandalized to hell. Tourists who are not in the know about this mall, please do not visit the Sunrise Mall's entrances unless of course abandoned buildings and malls are your thing, then be our guest.
Sad to say that this Mall is no longer a Mall, almost everything it's close The Dollar movies it's gone! and all the stores are close pretty much, it's just a vacant building full of memories. Where Burlington is, around that area it's dirty and people just keep making it worst by trowing all their garbage dirty pampers & food everywhere, right by the workforce Center inside Sunrise mall, it's just so sad to see this..
A very empty mall with an arcade and movie theater, plus a few other stores. Very pretty and enjoyable.
Carnival is awesome ! So many new rides !
I love shopping at the sunrise mall it's been around forever it has a lot of culture and history in it and it's actually a pretty decent place and I can always find great deals since some of the businesses have been closing down and it's a little slower than the other ones so you can always find something decent at a great price and that's why I like shopping at the sunrise mall. I do wish that their food court was a little better and open but sometimes you know you gotta deal with what it is and it's a great place to go walking on Sundays for your exercise sometimes I go there with many of my friends. It's also the same wall that was shown in the movie the legend of Billy Jean so it does have history and films and it's in films and it's a Corpus Christi icon no that's one of those really amazing things that I really enjoy is that it does have so much history and it's quite a wonderful place and it's a good place to find clothes and a lot of other things that you can end up doing is you're going shopping.
This place is relic of the past. It needs an extensive remodel. The parking lots look like a warzone. Inside the building is still nice. But it's gone down hill. The city should've remodeled it, instead of building those failed outlet stores in Robstown. Would have been cheaper, and Corpus Christi would have 2 functioning shopping malls. They should let Costco come in and build a store on the site.
Renovations are needed, or the building must be knocked down. Parking lot of needed repairs. A few store and fitness places are keeping the building alive.
This mall used to be great let me tell you about it I could easily go here and spend a whole day whether it was watching movie at the dollar theater or playing videos games at the arcade or just plain old shop till I would run out of money but that has drastically changed. They did away with almost every store in this place including the arcade and dollar theater what a shame. This place needs new management altogether once there lose sears and Burlington this place will turn into an abandoned mall pretty much I couldn't tell you anything else they have there because it's a waste of time walking around an empty mall very sad to see.
