Cotsen is a rare books library that also offers free children's programming. Come relax and read in Bookscape, our whimsical public gallery.
The Cotsen Children's Library is a very special library within the Department of Rare Books and Special Collections at Princeton University Library.
Our international research collection of illustrated children's books, manuscripts, original artwork, prints, and educational toys from the 15th century to the present day is the benefaction of Lloyd E. Cotsen '50.
The Cotsen Children's Library also has a public face, serving as a resource for children, families, librarians, and educators. We offer a variety of free programs and events for children, an author interview webcast, a teen writing resource, and a creative blog. Visitors can also explore Bookscape, our picturesque gallery with whimsical spaces to read, including a two-story bonsai tree. Like our programs, Bookscape is open to the public and free of charge. Please bring your family to relax and read!
The Cotsen gallery is currently under renovation. We look forward to seeing you when we reopen the gallery in early 2018!
