I wanna just start with the ladies upfront are super nice and helpful, but overall the business is inconsistent and it’s frustrating as heck trying to be seen. Ever since Devin Knapp left, this place has gone downhill. I can’t count how many times they’ve been closed for random reasons. I understand life happens and you can’t always control it, but they don’t send out mass emails if they need to close PLUS they’re rude as hell when responding to these reviews, just see below. The only reason i continue to go is because its close to my house and *sometimes* easy to get in & out.
I am alive due to this offices care, love and attention. Kevin and his staff have been by side from the beginning. I can’t thank y’all enough. If you’re looking for a doctor who cares call them. Yes they are busy but the best always is.
I use to think this place was great, but not sure what's changed. I have to pay out of pocket due to no insurance. I paid $110 to "see a Dr" because I needed a prescription refill that had expired and wanted to discuss some issues and request a specific blood test. First off, I arrive, pay, they call me back, don't take weight like normal, the nurse hustles me in to the room, takes my blood pressure and says " okay, we're good, we'll call in the refill". I advised I needed to actually speak with a Dr and that is what I paid for. After a little attitude, she called in another nurse and this nurse asked what I needed and I explained. She then proceeded to take blood, charge me $380 for blood work because they decided to run two additional tests other than what I requested, so I paid and left. Keeping in mind I've now paid $490.00, over two weeks later I called because I had not received the results of my blood work. I was advised they had the results, and what they were and they wanted me to schedule an appointment to review options with a Dr. I asked if I had to pay $110 again, because I had paid that last time and never spoke with a Dr and should not have to pay again but she stated I still had to pay. Now on to the BIGGEST issue... When they called in the refills for my prescriptions, when my pharmacy called they stated I had three ready. I asked what the third one was because I typically only have two prescriptions. They advised me of the name of the new medication and I looked it up and it is to treat high blood pressure... Now mind you my blood pressure is constantly extremely low, in fact the nurse even commented on my low blood pressure the day of the appointment and I advised that if they look at my records, they'd see that this is always the case.... So after the pharmacy, my next call was to the Dr's office to see why on earth they would 1 prescribe a new medication without advising me & 2 why would they prescribe me something to treat high blood pressure knowing my blood pressure is extremely low to begin with... Their response was that they would check into it and someone would call me back, which of course they never called! She also stated " maybe they mixed up your prescription with another patient" I told her that does not make me feel any better! I advised that Had I not researched and just taken the medication, their mistake and incompetence could have killed me! So be very careful when going to this place, they overcharge you, make serious mistakes, and really don't care! It's been over a week since they would "have someone call me" regarding the medication issue, but still nothing! In response to the office reply to my review, I did not dispute the bloodwork cost, I am stating issues with being charged a fee more than once regarding the same issue where the results etc could be resolved in a phone call. You stated in your response "We also require that before we start any patient on any medication that can cause an increase in blood pressure or pulse" The medication you prescribed is to treat high blood pressure. Also, no one discussed adding a medication with me... Don't you feel this is something that should have been discussed, ESPECIALLY if it reduces high blood pressure in a person that has very low blood pressure? You had prescribed this medication the same day of my visit, therefore you did not have the bloodwork back yet...
I think this place is great! As far as the negative reviews, clearly some of your issues are due to yourself. If the information in your chart is not updated, guess what, you won’t be notified! If you are rude to the people TRYING to care for you, why do you expect niceness in return? We are human as they are! If you are rude to people because they are doing a job they were told to do and how to do it, then you are the problem! All I’m saying is u get what u give. Don’t give info, don’t get notifications. Don’t give respect, don’t get it. That is all! I love this place and the staff that clearly everyone has a problem with but I have also been nice and respectful and didn’t object if they had certain policies that the STAFF has no control over. Oh, and Heaven forbid the place be closed for vacation or emergencies, like the people that work there don’t have a life of their own!! Ok, now I’m done lol
Kevin Salas, NP is outstanding. He takes his time with each patient. He will spend time educating and providing great care! The staff is always pleasant and helpful!!
Always friendly staff I was recently there to see Dr. Kevin Salas about my anxiety. He is amazing I was nervous and very anxious before he came in. He came in sat down and we just started talking he made me feel extremely comfortable opening up and he LISTENED he didn’t make me feel like I was taking too much of his time. It was like I was talking to a friend with no judgement or just telling me to get over it. All of the staff is friendly and the office is clean
The doctors are AMAZING here. Kevin is awesome! He is always very pleasant, thorough and never acts rushed. I feel confident that I am getting great care every time. I always get timely appointments and never wait in the lobby for long periods of time. I have only had one person ever be rude and it was over scheduling test and then the results were not given to me in detail. Over all the front desk personal are very courteous and friendly. The negatives are when you call you may get put on hold and forgotten about. This doesn’t always happen but I have been left on hold for as long as 25 minutes then my call was dropped because it was 5 o’clock. The other thing is sometimes getting the medication the Dr ordered isn’t called into the pharmacy in a timely manner. Test aren’t always scheduled right away. The doctors are so good and most of the staff are so friendly I can over look the small short comings.
As a former medical person and practice manager I cannot say enough great things about Kevin, Grizel and Susan. Kevin and his staff have taken great care of all my family. Susan was super sweet and helpful. Grizel has gone above and beyond even when short staffed; which has not gone unnoticed. Kevin is a patient advocate, executes coordination of care with all practitioners and does the due diligence when it comes to all your medical needs. If your looking for a practice to call home, make sure to schedule an appointment. Thanks guys for being the best of the best.
The physician is great, but what does that matter if is staff are completely incompetent. They don't know how to look up names of medication or check patient visits or for that matter answer their phone without having patients holding for 30 minutes. Avoid this office
I was scheduled for a appointment 3/14/23 only to be notified by ANOTHER patient that she received a email that the office was CLOSED for spring break. I have been waiting for two months for this appointment so you can imagine I'm very unhappy. No curtsey call, no email, nothing. Seems unprofessional to schedule when the office was apparently going to be closed.
