So, recently I walked into the lobby of this property with the intent of booking a room for the night after a long flight. Mind you, I understood that a reservation might be needed in advance. However, most reputable hotels would allow walk-ins, based upon availability. Upon entering, I overheard one of the front desk staff members yelling at another guest about not allowing a small portable fan on property while checking in. Afterwards, I approached the front desk agent, Natalie, for directions to the public restroom prior to booking a room. She immediately asked if I had a reservation and I replied that I was interested in booking a room for the night and just needed to use the restroom. She replied with an attitude, "No, we are sold out!". I asked, "So, I cannot even use your restroom?" Natalie: "No!" without any explanation. I have never experienced this at any other hotel properties. Disgusted with her poor attitude, lack of hospitality, and empathy, I simply left the property as Natalie made smart remarks upon my exit. I eventually booked a room at another property with exceedingly friendlier service. Based upon my bad experience, Natalie needs coaching and counseling by hotel management as she does not reflect the quality of hospitality service typically offered by the Marriott brand. Until then, I would highly recommend that if you are browsing around for nearby hotels that you do not waste your money at this particular property.
Good location for a long weekend biking VA Capital trail. The rooms desperately need update but the staff was wonderful. They all were pleasant, helpful and professional. Notable hard working and helpful staff was Jakeirra and Teondra, breakfast staff.
COCKROACH!!!! We love the fact that the hotel was close to the airport. When we got to the hotel everything appeared to look clean. A few weird things but whatever. We slept there and next morning my husband was brushing his teeth a cockroach came out and startled my husband. When we checked out I told the front desk lady what had happened and she stated that she had stayed there with her husband/boyfriend a few weeks back and had witnessed the same thing. They are actually aware of the cockroach infestation and have not done anything about it!! Disgusting and absolutely not up to the standard of Marriott’s we’ve stayed at on the past. If I could give this place a -10 I definitely would!!!!
Best sleep better than my house. Free airport shuttle. Dorey park is 3.5 miles away. The bistro inside serves burger, breakfast, happy hour. See The Main Man, May Washington. If you're lucky, he'll sing for you.Rooms: 5/5
This hotel's location is good as we are close to the airport and a few restaurants within walking distance. Our shuttle driver was already waiting and was friendly. Hotel lobby and rooms are nice and well decorated. King beds with comfortable pillows and a nice half moon loveseat and ottoman. There's a balcony as well. Rooms have a mini-fridge and microwave with lots of lighting. Our itinerary shows free continental breakfast but was told there was no free breakfast. Front desk clerk guy checking us in on May 21 was very pleasant. The next morning, there were 2 ladies that was playing around at the desk while checking someone in. We were sitting right in front of the desk and observed as we were waiting for the shuttle. My friend asked about the shuttle to take him to Kroger's and asked how long as he had been waiting for some time. They were not nice. We were also advised the night before about the hotel's quiet hours from 8am-8pm. If we didn't adhere, they didn't care who we were they wouldn't give a warning and we would be out. Not a way to greet arriving guest. Disappointed with this hotel's customer service.
Just not clean. They try, but this place is old and you can tell. The carpets are an easy tell how dirty the place is. I refused to walk with bare feet. If you have to stay near the airport, it at least feels safe. Before to get dinner before you arrive, there is not much of anything nearby.
There was still trash in the waste basket, which made me wonder whether the sheets were ever changed. The staff was awesome and very friendly, but the hotel itself felt dirty and some of the A/C's not working in some of our rooms.Rooms: 3/5
Absolutely the best in the airport area. Front dest was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were exceptional and comfortable. 100 Rooms: 5/5
It is a pretty good hotel. Don't get a room near the elevator - unusually loud.Rooms: 4/5
