I adored the sheriffs that was running security at the front door. For how sweet they were to my two littles really made the trip alot less nervy for me as a single parent. One of them giving my 3 year old a sheriff sticker badge literally made my daughter's entire day/week. Thank you again!!
The Sheriff's Office front are very kind can direct you and guide you if you have any questions. As you walk up the stairs to the second floor and you go to the right, that would be for divorce, separations in marriage, annulment or for general questions. If you walk up stairs and you go to the right that would be for small claims court matters, pay fines, passports and other matters. On the wall/ window to the right is the board with the schedule for court hearings, time, individuals name and court room number. Downstairs is a small food area. After going through metal detectors with officers when you enter the facility, to the far right is the Sheriff's Office.
It's a nice but severely out of date courthouse. To be blunt no one wants to go here, however if you are to serve jury duty 3 times for me you will like to know that while waiting in the lobby you will have a nice view of the river and the hills to the east of Kelso. Overall it's an ok place. On a side note, the courthouse was featured in one of the first ever cases of Unsolved Mysteries. It was the case of the amnesiac victim Kyra Cook.
I only seen a judge that helped people and a DA offer to dismiss without asking.
