Attorneys Janet P. Cox gained her knowledge of the Social Security law and the disability appeals process while working as an attorney for the administrative appeals division of the Social Security Administration.
Attorney Cox has over 30 years experience in this field. After leaving government for private practice, Ms. Cox has devoted her legal practice to representing the disabled throughout all levels of the disability process, including hearings before an administrative law judge, the Appeals Council and in the Federal court system. Additionally, Ms. Cox has experience in the area of Alabama Worker’s Compensation.
Attorney Cox is licensed to practice law in the state of Alabama. She is a current member of the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Associations. Ms. Cox is admitted to practice law in the United States District Courts in Alabama and before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Jan Cox is a Sustaining Member in the National Organization of the Social Security Claimant’s Representatives (NOSSCR) and is a regular attendee and speaker for continuing legal education on the subject of Social Security Law and the appeals process.
