We had a great weekend at Cozy Acres! The staff was friendly and helpful. We booked the wrong days at Powatan State Park and needed last-minute accommodations. We were happy to drive 20 minutes and set up camp here for the weekend. We had 5 kids with us who really loved the playground and the pool! Just down from the playground is a large open field which they played in as well. The stone patio on the site was nice, however, the sites are pretty close together. Luckily, the have plenty of things to do on the property that you don't have to sit around at the campsite all day! Overall, a great family run campground. We will definitely be back!
The cottage was perfect for 2 night stay at the campground. Full size bed and full size futon. Little kitchen that had sink, microwave, coffee pot, plenty of cabinet space. Little bathroom with toilet and shower. Nice screened in porch with glider chair. We enjoyed fishing, the swimming pool, and the playground. They had karaoke in the clubhouse which we could enjoy from our fire pit by our cottage. The clubhouse was huge and it was decorated perfectly.
We absolutely loved the campground. It's neat, clean, peaceful, family was very respectful. We will be back for another visit, hopefully soon.Location: 5/5
Not much to this place. Game room is old and not well-maintained. Pool is small relative to the size of the campground and located a few feet from constant traffic. Better off spending your money in a state park.Rooms: 1/5
Cozy Acres is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. We were on the way to our stay at Cozy Acres, but on the way, was hit by another vehicle about 1/4 mile from the campgrounds. Scott Daniel and his staff couldn't have been more helpful with our problems. Really folks, this is the best place ever. We've been camping for over 40 years, and we rate the Daniel family and staff an A+. We will definitely be back next year. Salute Cozy Acres!
I have heard about Cozy Acres for years, live nearby, and never stayed there. I have traveled quite a bit and stayed in many campgrounds. Cozy Acres was one of the cleanest, well-run, campgrounds I've been too. I can tell it is family owned and there is pride involved in its operation. Maybe I got lucky, but the other campers were also quiet and polite that weekend. I look forward to going back next year at some point.
Staff is nothing short of outstanding. We got a new camper, stayed for 1 night at end of season. Wanted to get camper winterized and they allowed me to keep it on site so I didnt have to haul back and forth. Took care of winterizing and then assisted with scheduling pickup outside normal hours. We will definitely be going back next season.
I recently purchased an Air Stream camper for 45,000$ and was denied entrance to Cozy Acres. Reason? The Air Stream was built in 2000 and therefor too old to meet their standards. I was built in 1946 and now consider myself above Cozy’s standards.
Hands down, this is the literal best campground we've ever stayed at! The grounds are very well maintained, you can tell that the Daniel's family works hard and are very proud of their property. Everyone from the staff to the campers are incredibly kind, welcoming and wonderful. The pool is very clean and refreshing, the hidden trails are so cool and our dogs enjoy them as much as we do. We are looking forward to the Fourth of July festivities as well! There are so many things to do, there really is fun to be had by all who stay here! Multiple fishing ponds, hiking trails, a playground, pool, clubhouse and the main office not only has different things to purchase inside but also some pool tables and other games located within. The view at night is absolutely stunning, pretty sure there are millions of stars that I've never had the pleasure of seeing until now...I cannot say enough about this place. We love it and hopefully you will, too! 10/10 recommend!
Our first time staying here. We did a long weekend 3 nights and had a wonderful time. Caught lots of fish from the 2 free catch and release ponds but ironically didn’t have much luck at the paid for pond. Oh well that’s why they call it fishing and not catching. Pool was really nice and was refreshing in the hot afternoon sun, my daughter loved the big playground and all the other kids that were camping there. The staff was super nice and helpful and we will definitely stay there in the future.
