Decided to try out Cracker Barrel after seeing multiple signs on the highway advertising the restaurant! I’ve always been intrigued by their menu after a new spot opened up where I used to live, just never got the chance to try them out. I love the atmosphere once you get inside. We entered through the shop and were greeted with a super cute country store filled with lots of holiday decor and various snacks and candies for sale. We decided to browse around after eating so we made our way to the hostess in order to be seated. They took a little while to come out and bring us to our table but at least they acknowledged the wait and apologized. We didn’t mind that much anyways. The restaurant is a good size. I imagine they’re busy on weekends but we happened to stop in on a Friday afternoon at an off peak time so there weren’t many customers present. Our waitress was very attentive once we were seated. She always made sure to come and check in on us. If we needed anything during our visit she was quick to grab it for us. Now onto the good part: the food. We got a basket with corn muffins and biscuits to start. I believe all tables get them for free. Definitely a staple! I loved their biscuits, I topped mine with a little bit of butter and jam. It was warm, tasty and flaky. The perfect biscuit. Unfortunately the corn muffins tasted a bit bland. Definitely go for the muffins! Off the menu I ordered the bacon Mac and cheese side and their broccoli cheese casserole. Both were delicious! Very fresh. We did have a 15 minute wait for the broccoli cheese casserole but it was worth it! Definitely something I can see being a hit at holiday get togethers. I’d probably opt out of the bacon topping on the Mac and cheese because it was a bit salty, but the Mac and cheese was good. Very cheesy! My fiancé ordered one of their seafood platters and said he enjoyed it. Just a lot of food! Probably a meal that can be shared. My brother in law got their catfish, unfortunately he said he didn’t really like it. He stated the flavor was lacking. Overall I enjoyed the food that I tried and the service was great! Definitely looking forward to trying out more of their menu items. Give them a try if you have upon a Cracker Barrel in your area! Edit: also forgot to mention we tried their white cheddar cheese bites and they were pretty good! A little salty though!
Nice laid back atmosphere. Great service. The food was flavorful and pretty delicious. The temperature could have been a little warmer on the fries. The portions are okay, not overly generous but enough most likely. Overall, it's worth a go! The gift shop is a great place to search for all kinds of goodies. Kid-friendliness: They do have kids menus!
What can I say we had amazing food and the best server we have had in a very long time. Cracker Barrel has always been good to us. I know sometimes the wait is long and the customer service has been just ok in the past. I will say this was not the case today. They definitely were super busy and even with that our server was top notch. He had a lot of tables and still never neglected us one bit. In fact he went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. All of our food was hot and fresh. We had a good experience as always. We will be back soon.
It's such a cute old timey style restaurant. The food is solid American food. But, I think their breakfast menu is the best. And, to top it all off, they have a really fun store. You can buy candy there that I haven't seen since I was a child. Well worth a visit to the store even if you don't eat there. And, they have wonderful holiday gifts.
I don't really care to leave negative comments and if its 1 or 2 things that would've bothered me I would let bygones be bygones, but when 5 or 6 things happen it's kinda hard not to think about them. Just before 9pm we arrived at the restaurant and they told us it would be a 5 minute wait before we could be seated, no big deal! They have the store to walk around so that didn't bother me. What did was almost a 20 minute wait and no one came up to us and told us they were still working on a table. We were seated and our young waitress was quite polite and created small pleasant conversation while we ordered. No problem there. I ordered extra chives and tomatoes on my food. We got our drinks and I had to ask for biscuits. I remember coming many times before and they were brought to you with your drinks. When our food came I had no chives or tomatoes but my meal was still yummy so I chose not to say anything and shake a little extra pepper on my eggs. My wife's mashed potatoes were cold and tasted old but the chicken was delicious and she didn't want me to say anything because she also had chicken and dumplings and a side of corn. When we finished our drinks we weren't asked if we wanted a refill because the next time our waitress came we were full and ready for the check. We took our Togo boxes and the check to the counter to pay and the young girl was talking on the phone. I stood for a minute to see if she hung up so we could pay and she kept talking. me and my wife wandered through the store for a few minutes until she had finished her conversation then payed for our food. Overall i love going to cracker barrel for the food and the atmosphere but this time around I left unimpressed and a little disappointed. Maybe we won't go so late in the night next time.
Food is not so good, but the server and the old fashion store were awesome.Food: 3/5
I had the Friday special of fish. It was cooked to perfection. I had sides of Broccoli Rice casserole a premium side now and Hashbrown Casserole. Both were delicious. Our server was great too!Food: 5/5
I have always loved Cracker Barrel since I was a child. All the decorations, the gift shop, the food, atmosphere, plus the little peg game at each table....you really just can't go wrong with Cracker Barrel. The service was fantastic. The place was clean as usual. Gift shop was filled with beautiful things from trinkets to clothes, home decor to toys/candy. I must admit the gift shop is a little pricey once you get to the clothes but if I had that type of money, I'd definitely pay it! There's a plethora of toys and candy to choose from for all ages just about. The food was immaculate! You just can't go wrong with home cookin. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly for the toy/candy section at gift shop & variety of choices on the menu! :
We split two orders of the absolutely delicious southern fried chicken meals, each with two sides and also biscuits and gravy and cornbread, and split them between 3 people and still had leftovers. Afterwards the ladies went shopping in the attached store and found presents for everybody. A very pleasant experience.Food: 5/5
I love cracker barrel. But this one feels a little old. Maybe it's time to paint, do a deep clean and replace tables and chairs, something. The people were friendly and the food was fresh and fast.Food: 5/5
