Review 2 second time: I went on a little bit busier day then the first visit and had bad service. Our waiter didn’t pay attention to us during our visit and didn’t check on us during the whole time we were there. Only once she gave us drinks we didn’t ask for. My boyfriend didn’t enjoy the lemonade and finished it and she gave us another one with out asking ‘did you want a refill or did you want a different or same drink’. We waited about an hour for our food. We were waiting for her to come back to give a status on our food, but we got lukewarm food. My mash potatoes were warm not hot and didn’t come with gravy like menu said. I asked for butter on them, but they were dry. The catfish was really good and super hot. And my boyfriends steak was dry. I hate complaining but it wasn’t the same experience as the first time. Review 1: first time going Excellent customer service from Darnel in the gift shop. He helped us with questions about prices as we picked out some mugs. Our waiter, Marie had amazing customer service as well. She was patience with us as we had a bunch of questions about the food as it was out first time coming to the restaurant. I ended up ordering the trout with broccoli and mashed potatoes. I got them with butter instead of gravy that it comes with the trout was seasoned well and the potatoes were amazing. My boyfriend had the sirloin steak it was a little under seasoned but cooked to perfection. They forgot the garlic seasoning it came with so we got it on the side. He also had home style hash browns it was really good with the bacon. We also got corn on the cob which tasted like it was hand picked and made here. The biscuits that came with the meals was a bit too salty, but was really fluffy. And we got white cheddar bites that were really good, but wish it had marinara sauce to go with it. Also there lemonade was also good, but the peach tea is a little too sweet in my opinion. So I mixed it with lemonade to make it less sweet. Lastly, they were out of stock on a lot of menu items when we went which was disappointing. We ordered dessert which was chocolate cake and it was gritty tasting and under cooked. I would comeback here again.
My hubby was working overtime so I went out and had a solo breakfast. It was truly delicious! I love the new steak and hash brown casserole - this is the second time I’ve had it; please never take it off the menu! The grits leave a little to be desired, but my expectation for restaurant grits isn’t super high anyway. I usually doctor them up with cheese, butter, salt and pepper and that does the trick. The biscuits are to die for and I always get some to take home! My waitress Selamawit was awesome as well and provided great service! Can’t wait to go back.
Maybe it’s in the nostalgia that brought me here. I remember loving this place as a child. As an adult…..sadly not so much. I stopped in one afternoon during the week. It was pretty empty, and the service was quick. When the meal arrived it all look great. However… Well, let me break down my meal in segments: The biscuits and macaroni and cheese were classically good. Tasty with that home country style just like I remember. The shrimp and chicken tenders were below average. Edible? Yes. However each bite just made me think I might as well go to my local supermarket and grab a box of tenders and fried shrimp from the frozen section and toss it into my oven at home. I am 100% sure those shrimp are not freshly battered. Disappointing. The french fries were…French fries. No comment really. The mashed potatoes were loaded, but were so cold that even after mixing, the cheese stayed shredded, never melted. The whole purpose of “loaded” was defeated. And lastly, that steak. At least I think it was steak, that’s what the menu said. Ohhh no, absolutely terrible and inedible. Tasted like balls of rubber tossed in garlic. See the picture I uploaded Take it off the menu please! That is not normal meat! One bite and I was done. I really do think this place is a gem, a classic “country style southern” restaurant. But just not a place I’d eat at again. The food is just not good anymore, and the oddly affordable prices reflect that . Come for the country store, awesome ambiance, and charm of Cracker Barrel. But maybe look elsewhere if you’re looking for a good “home cooked” meal. Regretfully, I do not recommend this place anymore
Not great at all. It was a Friday, and apparently, they have a fish special that day, so why not choose the fish special. Usually, the specials are made fresh but not here at the Cracker Barrel. The fried seafood sampler looked good as it was placed down in front of me, but that's where it all stopped. The fish was overcooked and super dry, and the fried shrimp was the size of a quarter with the tails still attached under all that batter, so you couldn't even see them. I found out they existed when one poked through my into my gums. My server was great, and the atmosphere seriously needs a major, major refresh. Take out that retail side shop, I can't imagine you're making money from all those useless dated products that someone could just get off of Amazon for way cheaper. Unless they start making some serious changes, I highly doubt I'll make it there again.
Haven't been here in a really long time and coming back to it was a really enjoyable time. My waitress Michelle was excellent and very friendly overall. Had a simple breakfast meal and it came out great. Overall will return soon.Food: 5/5
Chain restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean. Good stop for a road tripper looking for a filling meal. Good value. Not for the gourmet; think diner.Recommended dishesCountry Fried Steak, Biscuits and Gravy
The wait wasn't long. We got there around 9am on a Sunday. After that it seems like it started to get busier. The food was great although I didn't like the sausage patty. The eggs tasted great once you added some salt and pepper. The cheese grits were perfect! The bacon was perfect as well. If you love pancakes with a crispy edge this is your place! The biscuits were soft but kind of bland. I didn't really care for the apple butter but the maple syrup was excellent. The service was fast and kind. The table and establishment was clean. I definitely recommend anyone to eat here!
I go here all the time for breakfast and they have great food and service and decent prices. I love their pancakes. Alex G, my server this morning, completely made my day. All my servers have been phenomenal but Alex is by far my favorite!Food: 5/5
Great food at great prices, friendly staff, nice gift shop- everything you want from a Cracker Barrel! Can't wait til I'm back in the area so I can go again! This location is right off the highway, if you don't see the tall Cracker Barrel sign, follow the road signs, it's marked pretty wellFood: 5/5
Good serving size, great prices and good service. The service was good, though the kitchen was a little slow getting the order out. I don't consider 35 minutes from the time we order to being served at good. Given the prices of meals are still reasonable, I would still go back.
