Memorial Teddy Bears handmade by me out of the clothing of your loved ones. It's filled to perfection and uses the least amount of clothing as possible. I also return all the remaining clothing to you. I know how precious each piece is.
What started me in making teddy bears was my Mother-in-law. She loved that my husband and I were both in the Army and she absolutely loved teddy bears. My first teddy was for her. In fact, you can look at the pics of the elderly Asian woman holding a giant bear made out of two uniforms. The mouth on it is a little rough but it was my first bear and it ironically copied the every day look of my Father-in-law. She lost her battle to metastatic brain cancer (breast cancer that moved to her brain) a month later. I didn't touch sewing for a year.
Around the 1st anniversary of her death I asked my Father-in-law for a few articles of clothing to turn them into teddy bears for my Husband and his brothers. He gave me a funny look but allowed me to take what I wanted. (Which are the three bears in the cover photo.) It was the perfect gift for each of them. A teddy bear made out of her clothing... A piece of Mama that they can hold.
That's how my Memorial Bears started. I keep them priced low so that everyone can afford them. (Only $20 for the first one and $15 for each additional one.) I maximize the use of the fabric so I only need a small amount. I also return all the remaining clothing to you. I truly know how precious each piece is. Each bear is about 8" tall (about the size of a water bottle).
