Welcome to the Crane Melon Barn. A Sonoma County Historic Site built in 1868, and home of the world-famous Crane Melon.
From approximately September 1 - October 31, the Barn is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m and sells the Original Crane Melon, Crane yellow-meated watermelons, heirloom tomatoes, Organic Sonoma County Walnuts and much more!
Since our melons are very popular, it's a good idea to call first and check availability. There is an answering service which is updated daily with times and days of operation.
Since the melons are only in season in September and October, the Barn performs many other roles. It is home to the annual Crane Christmas Boutique, which opens the weekend after Thanksgiving. It also functions as a special events facility for weddings, birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, anniversaries, bridal showers, and other celebrations. Built in 1868 entirely from Redwood trees, its tranquil surroundings are complemented by a pinot noir vineyard and native flora and fauna.
The Barn is currently owned and operated by Rick and Cindy Crane and their daughter Jennifer, who are fifth and sixth generation Sonoma County farmers respectively.
