Very good. Enjoyed roast beef deli sandwich and chips. Soup options were not to my liking, but they appeared to be fresh.
Alas Closed!!... .. The place in Bennington for sandwiches and innovative soups. And when they have them, the definitive location for crescents. Home made super crescents buttery and simply the best for miles! Oh ask what's baking in back, the surprises here are great.
Muffins for breakfast, soup and sandwich for lunch, baked goods for treats. And the pierogi! Good god, the pierogi. This is a staple in our household and most who live and/or work in Bennington. Each day there are fresh soup offerings -- one better than the next. We regularly pick up cups of soup and sandwiches on Friday when both of us work from home. Kris never strays from the Cuban he LOVES it but I like to pair my sandwich with my soup. The space is cluttered and eclectic and you'll find locals, thru hikers, tourists and a mix of other folks at the tables or counter. When you leave your tip you do so by tossing your money in the cup that reflects your question to the answer of the day -- which is a fun little conversation starter. I hear they do custom cakes but haven't had a reason to try yet. I will at some point!
Favorite place to go to in Bennington, hands down. Best bagels and cream cheese I've ever had. Just tried one of the massive croissants with local jelly on my last visit and it was heavenly
Pastries are amazing! Lunch is amazing! Everything is fresh and made with care. Staff is very polite and knowledgeable about menu. You have to stop here if you are passing through Bennington!!
This place is filthy. don't go here. The food is bland, the prices are ok,but not worth the price for the taste and everyone-including the owners are very rude. I also saw the kitchen when going to the restroom. I wouldn't feed the food from that kitchen to my dog! It's an OCD nightmare. The floors are slimy and dirty, and the sink is always full of dirty dishes. I also spotted a few flies in the kitchen as well. if you look at the mirrors from the front of the store, you may see someone sneezing or coughing into the food-i did! will not be going back ever,and Pitty those who will.
The chicken banh mi sandwich is the most delicious sandwich in the world. .Scallions, hot spicy garlic and srirracha mayonnaise cilantro basil sliced peppers on a baguette with roasted chicken....That's it.
Great food, staff was awesome, and an all around great pace. I plan on stopping in next time I'm in, or near, Bennington.
Got a Russian torte and chocolate cupcake. Yummy real buttercream, and nice texture to the layered torte.
