Independence was officially named on October 7, 1840, but did you know… On November 20, 1837 this beautiful city we now live in was once established as Crewitts Creek? That’s right… it is all in our name. On April 30, 1840 Campbell County split, thus creating Kenton County. The feeling of "independence" that the residents had from splitting from Campbell County began the transition that resulted in the naming of the city we now call our home of Independence.

Our first dinner was pretty good! We will be back. I got the gyros, which was probably a mistake. They were good, but not authentic...guess I should have figured that though! I can see myself updating my review to 5 stars but need to try more food first and there are plenty of other options I definitely want to try!
The cilantro rice tasted to much like lime, but the srimp was good. My friend and family liked it, good service, good atmosphere, the food was okay for me, but everyone else liked it. Parking: Good parking, plenty of space, free parking spots. Kid-friendliness: Good kid menu, great outdoor place good for some kids to run around, and the kids food is definitely great.
A recent review for Crewitts Creek Kitchen & Bar caught our eye so we decided to check it out tonight. We ordered the onion ring tower for an appetizer and it was as good as previous posts said they were. My husband ordered the halibut sandwich special with the mashed sweet potatoes and salad. Super good and they need to patent the mashed sweet potatoes—incredible! I ordered the Carlie’s Chicken Piccata which came with a salad and it was so delicious—absolutely loved it! We also ordered American Mules It’s hard to get one that is actually made correctly and ours were made perfectly! The staff was friendly and courteous and the manager, Tracy Sue, was so personable—from a friendly greeting when taking our name and number while waiting for our table, to stopping by to see how our meal was. We live in Campbell County so it’s about a 20 min drive, but it’s worth the short drive and we will definitely be back!
Very good food, a little bit pricey. Tacos de Pescado was excellent. My husband had the “That’s a Wrap”. Arrived on a Sunday at 5 PM and was immediately seated, but it took the server a little bit to get to our table. Beach Please drink was very good and food presentations and taste were excellent. Will definitely return. Appreciated that they had the TVs and music down low enough that you could still talk and hear each other. That does not happen in some restaurants. It is very nice to have a more upscale restaurant in Independence. Wide variety on the menu. Parking: 20+ Kid-friendliness: There were a lot of children in the restaurant, and the prices for the children’s meals are reasonable. About six dollars.
Every year we stop here before the Independence parade with about 25 Jeeps... Wonderful place great people... Our servers Kailyn and Kim did an amazing job yet again today!!! Highly recommend this place!!!Food: 5/5
I’ve been on the hunt for a real chicken fried steak in Ohio or northern Kentucky for years now. This place cooks it just like the south. Excellent food excellent flavor and the staff cares about you. The owner management comes around personally. It’s like I’m eating at my grandmothers table. We will go back to this place time and time again. Do yourself a favor eat here today.
Awesome menu, so hard to choose, as many tempting choices. Good size portions and all very tasty. Great servers, very attentive and personable. First timer , will definitely go back!!Food: 5/5
Duuuuuude! My husband had heard great things so we gave it a try today. Elevated pub grub done REALLY well. We started with the fried green tomatoes and they were delicious. Had a few drinks and then I had the Peyton Manning and my husband had the hot brown. Very generous portions and served piping hot just the way I like it. Both were very tasty as well. Kimberley was our server and she was very attentive. We will be back soon!
The menu has some unique options on it, but is comparatively on the expensive side for the quality. The burgers were ~ $16 for example. In general we've had good experiences though, and the staff is nice.Food: 4/5
Wish it was better and may try again but this experience wasn't great. Food was ok. As someone that grew up with poutine, you really need to use fries, not tots. Not enough cheese curds. Will give you credit that Gravy was on point. And I did like the 'short rib'. Menu says they are known for their fried chicken. Both myself and friend that ordered this, were quite underwhelmed. Small, flavorless, dry pieces. Homemade hot honey, I'm not sure what that was but neither of us cared for it. What made it all worse was the waitress. Missed a few things on the order, which we had to remind her. But the biggest problem was she spent 90% of her time either sitting with or talking to the table next to us. Drinks were left unfilled, I probably would have ordered more alcohol but she was too busy being friends instead of working. I'd like to say they were busy but it was dead. It just takes the slightest effort to take care of your customers.
