The Turner Co Jail is has served as lockup for inmates from the days of Roosevelt to Clinton. Call for a tour!

Description

Built in 1906, the Turner County Jail is on the National Register of Historic Places because of its Romanesque style, the inmates named it the "Castle Turner." The original jail cells remain upstairs, along with the death cell, hanging hook and trapdoor, where two men were hung for the crime of murder.

Many paranormal groups have visited the jail and found some very interesting readings while staying over night.

The Crime and Punishment Museum is one of the most unique tourist attractions in South Georgia. Come and check it out for yourself!
