Mission: Providing affordable and accessible primary outpatient healthcare
The Community Health Improvement Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center that provides primary outpatient health care. Since 1972, the Community Health Improvement Center has been operating as a non-profit organization serving Decatur and Macon County, and striving to make our community a healthier one. The Community Health Improvement Center provides medical care to men, women, and children of all ages; with and without health insurance. Community Health Improvement Center has different payment options and assistance programs available to better serve those with the greatest need.
With a growing demand in the health care industry, the Community Health Improvement Center expanded its services in 2005 and again in 2010. In addition, Community Health Improvement Center also sees patients at the Macon County Health Department and Heritage Behavioral Center located in Decatur, IL and at Urbana School Based Health Center in Urbana, IL. Together, the Community Health Improvement Center employs nearly 80 people and treats over 9,600 people each year.
