Community Gallery and Art Studio
Preserving History…
Built in 1926, the original Lake Como Service Station was known for its operation under local resident and entrepreneur, W.C. Alexander. The location has served as many storefronts over time for more home grown enterprises, including John’s Country Store and Clara’s Café. Over the years, the historic building has since closed and fallen into disrepair, but it was never forgotten.
Restoring the structure and preserving its history is the first phase in a new chapter for this community landmark. Upon restoration, it will open its doors again and become The Crossroads Art Gallery & Studio. The opening exhibit will feature a photographic history of the Lake Como community.
Creating for the Future...
Phase two will bring the opening of the studio which faces Prevost Street. The Crossroads Art Gallery & Studio will offer a full spectrum of community art classes: painting, pottery, sculpture, and more. Studio time and space will also be available for emerging artists complete with an art show to showcase their work.
Crossroads Studio is a multicultural center for inspiration and discovery through the study of creative arts, and is dedicated to the preservation of the local history and natural environment of the Lake Como area.
