02/08/21 I feel the need to update my review. Until today I have purchased Reubens from here several times. Every time, it met the quality of the one before. Today my reuben was made differently. They used thinly sliced lunch meat instead of fresh sliced corned beef. The meat was not chunky or fatty, and if I got a cold sandwich from the grocery store and toasted it in my frying pan, it would have a similar quality. I hope this is an aberration, and not how the reuben will be prepared going forward. If the latter is true, then I will feel sad to no longer eat here. A bad reuben is a deal breaker for me. I am removing 2 stars from my review, but I can decide next time I order a reuben if Crow's Nest deserves 1 or 5 stars. Homestyle feel. Friendly atmosphere. Reuben was 10/10. Would eat again. Reuben: Corned beef was tender and fell apart with each bite. Fries: Not too soggy, not too crispy. Perfect for dipping in thousand island dressing. Covid: Masks required when not at table. 6ft gap between tables. My girlfriend liked her salmon benedict. Was surprised by more salmon than she expected.
Cozy neighborhood diner. Food tasty, good specials. Friendly waitress. Came for breakfast, lite menu good value for quantity..
Melissa our server was excellent. Appetizers good. The prime 12oz prime rib was $22.50 and it should have been served in a sandwich. Actually I think the prime rib sandwiches I've ordered in my 52yrs was all thicker. Main course definitely not worth the money, but at we will be back to try something else.
The waitress was great . We waited an hour . I was so excited to take my husband out for Father’s Day. Then the food came. The potatoes were reheated and were dry. The omelette they made was not out of fresh ingredients. Spinach was from a can and the mushrooms were under cooked I could not eat it . I actually threw up because it made my stomach hurt . My husband got chicken fried steak and it was Not eatable . Rubbery and over cooked . The eggs were not cooked properly . Got my child a piece of bacon and it was so over cooked he chocked . Had to walk out . So disappointed with the food : I would not even let my dog eat the food . Please be cautious eating their food ; it’s obvious the cook has no idea what they are doing . Multiple people sent the food back while I was there and people were walking out . When we first entered the building the lady behind the register was quit rude : I asked her so do we seat ourselves or what? She said she could not help up for several minutes even though she was just standing there with a rude look on her face . Super unwelcoming. Don’t waste your time OR Money there : they completely over charge for horrible service . I would have rather ate McDonald’s than that nasty food . Be careful there food is unsafe to eat .
We've eaten here a few times. The service is friendly, and the food has always been good. I had my go-to, the Reuben. It was delicious, nice marbled rye, with a choice of tots as an accompaniment, which I enjoyed. The tartar we also ordered fish was great: it had a lot of garlic, which was a delicious surprise.
I was staying on Camano Island last night, so my aunt and I decided to grab a bite here. I ordered the grilled salmon. The salmon itself was really good, I ordered a side of the Asian Salad Dressing for the top, which was so good! The sautéed vegetables were really good as well, they weren't overcooked at all. I also opted for a baked potato, ordered a side of sour cream which we did not receive. My aunt got the fish and chips with chowder and salad. She said the fish was really good, a little dark on the fry, but delicious nonetheless. Great fries. She also said the chowder was really good, but at over $6 for a CUP is crazy as my whole salmon dinner was under $17. Our waitress was so so so nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend eating here!
Service was acceptable., friendly but only checked on the table once. We were a handful of customers in there at that time and there was plenty of staff working. They had enough spare time to be standing around in groups and chatting amongst themselves. Maybe getting ready for the late breakfast/early lunch rush? No matter what they seemed to have time on their hands. I had the chicken and country gravy with hash browns and scrambled eggs and biscuits. I ordered the gravy on the side, because you never know whether it will be good or not. It was gravy, not bad, not the best but it was cold, the flavor was not off putting, the texture and color were as they should be for country gravy. The hash browns were cooked to perfection! Yum! The eggs were delicious. Yum! Now the chicken was atrocious, unfortunately it was fried in the same oil as the fish is, boy could you tell that also. My poor husband has an allergy to most shellfish and now knowing that the same oil is used, well suffice it to say he will not be eating anything fried. The biscuits might have been from the day before, hard and stale. I will return because the menu looked promising and the restaurant was clean.
I just moved to the island and have been trying all the restaurants. I really wanted to like this place, because obviously there are very limited options. It was a hot day so my family and I were all in shorts and t shirts. The restaurant was super cold. The service left a lot to be desired. I think the waitress was new. She started out fine, just little things like forgetting the side of ranch I ordered. No big deal, I just hate wasting food and making people have to make an extra trip to get sauce. My problem was when my toddler spilled her juice. That was a first for us most restaurants have lids on kids' drinks. I would have been fine cleaning it up myself, but we weren't given any napkins with our food, which was all greasy fried food so we definitely needed them. She cleaned some it up with a wet rag, but there was still quite a bit on the table. We were then given one napkin. So not only was the table wet, we had to share the one napkin between the three of us. When we were finally given a few more, we were just kinda over it and ready for the check. The food was okay, but I don't think we'll be back.
The food wasn't very good and the service was lacking. I went with my family for breakfast ordered the biscuits and gravy after asking the waitress if the gravy was a thick gravy and her saying it was. She looked right at me after I said to the rest of my party this is not what I call thick and them agreeing with me. Never once did the waitress come over to check on us until it was time to bring the check. Other than coming around real quick to wait on other tables we never really saw her. We did feel like we were interrupting her morning by be there though so that was great too.
We stopped for a drink and sat on the patio. It was lovely back there. Our waitress was a sweetheart. Drink prices at happy hour are decent. Didn't try the food but intend to when we return. We came back and tried the chowder, it was yummy! As were the popcorn shrimp and smothered tater tots!
