Great look into Florida Cracker history and lifestyle, with preserved buildings and exhibits. Nice nature trails, also. The goats made us laugh.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This is a small local museum that features a Florida “cracker” farm and houses. The museum has a collection of antiques including farm equipment, loom and furniture. There are Longhorn Watusi, goats, chickens, wild hogs and a pair of Marshtakie cracker horses. If you enjoy cracker history you’ll enjoy this.
It's a pleasant drive back in time. A true respite. A shelter for rescued animals. A breath of fresh air. You can also pick up some local good's.... jellies. sewn goods, other talented crafts.
Awesome well preserved and great experience to see how life was in late 1800's!
A wonderful 'old Florida' setting lends host to this rustic piece of history. Most historical villages have manicured artificial layout but here natural vegetation surrounds the grounds as it would have during the pioneer time period. It's like your discovering the facilities as they were originally set. My daughter and I first visited the Crowley Museum during the Heritage Festival. The events and the demonstrations were great, the hay rides alone were awesome. I will certainly go back, I know for sure we overlooked some spots. I'm excited to return and discover what we missed!
It’s a drive, but worth it. We had a blast exploring and learning about Old Florida.
Stopped here on my way home from Myakka park and learned a little Florida history. It was not crowded, which made it more peaceful and relaxing to explore. Take the boardwalk and visit the animals!
Another beautiful day at the Crowley Museum Heritage Festival! It never gets old!
Really quaint park, with an A+ + staff. The boardwalk was u Der repairs but we did enjoy seeing some of the 150 year old living on display, and my kids loved feeding the pigs. This is not and all day stop, but a fantastic short trip visit.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
Love this place! It's so peaceful and beautiful! We saw sandhill cranes, fox squirrels, eagles, the web cam of the eagles nest is amazing in the welcome center! They had cracker cattle, cracker horses, pigs, goats and wildlife in abundance. The trails are fun and interactive for children and adult alike. The museum is a great representation of life during the 1800s. I can't wait to see the environmental room once its completed. The single room cabin and Tatum House are wonderful looks into central Florida history. This non profit is well worth the drive! I highly recommend sitting on the porch and soaking in the peace!
