Crowley's Ridge State Park

Description

Crowley's Ridge State Park is a 291acre Arkansas state park in Greene County, Arkansas in the United States atop Crowley's Ridge. Located on the former homesite of pioneer Benjamin Crowley, the park contains many excellent examples of the work done by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. One of Arkansas's most popular state parks, the parks is bisected by Crowley's Ridge Parkway, a National Scenic Byway. The site became a state park in 1933 in an effort to honor Crowley and the heritage of the Crowley's Ridge area.RecreationThe park was originally constructed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps and the original stone and log structures give the park a rustic feel. The park offers a 31acre fishing lake originally constructed by the Arkansas National Guard and which is well stocked with channel catfish and largemouth bass by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. The park also has a 3acre spring-fed swimming lake which is one of the most popular swimming areas in Arkansas.

Had a great time. Beautiful trails, great swimming area, cabins were clean & cozy. Definitely be back.
Nice place. Some camp sites are small. Great place to ride bikes and in the summer there is swimming and paddle boats. There are some trails that are small in length.
My son & I love it and come often. I grew up visiting here. I worked here as my first job and so did my mom. So this park has been like part of our family history. It's beautiful year round. I love the trails and scenery. Definitely recommend!!
Loved this park! The hiking trails were well- kept, the camping sites were fully equipped and the bathrooms were clean and plentiful. The lake was great for swimming and the lifeguards were on their game keeping everyone safe. Truly a gem on the ridge.
Small state park but offers alot Small Visitors Center,Fishing,Boating, Paddle boats,Camping,Cabins,Walking path around swimming area, trails etc. Very well maintained. Short drive to shopping and restaurants in Paragould. Jonesboro is a little longer trip with even more shopping and restaurants. It's really a underrated park in my opinion. Arkansas State Parks aren't you glad we got em?!
Went their for a family reunion. We spent 2 nights there in rented cabins and had the reunion at a pavilion. Cabins were nice and clean. Campground we’re beautiful. Great place to visit.
Beautiful little park set around a very small lake. They have several trails to walk, a nice playground, and some historic things to see. Lots of items built by the Civilian Conservation Corp. It's a great place for a picnic.
Absolutely beautiful park. We reserve the CCC pavilion for a company outing. There is a dance floor, beach area, beautiful lake, nice playground, volley ball court, and plenty of parking. Chris was extremely kind and helpful. Definitely would rent again for future gatherings.
Crowley's Ridge State Park, is a beautiful scenery place to visit for sightseeing and also a great place for hiking as well. I usually go here almost every other week just to hike and do photography. I've attached some of the pictures I've captured while visiting this park.
So, I'm on the fence of letting people know about places that are great. I don't like crowded areas but would also like other people to know about some nice places in an unbiased review. I would think this is a hidden gem of an Arkansas state park. The park overall is very nice. It has two lakes with one for fishing and boat rental. The other has a swimming area with a killer pavilion overlooking the lake. This lake also has a very nice walking area around the lake that is wheelchair friendly. There are some hiking trails with one having a swinging bridge. Camping is rather small with just a few tent only sites. Trailer sites are nice but some are very close to each other so look at that before booking. One other thing, the roads are narrow so you might actually think you going down a one way road when you are not. This may be a park to look into for a family trip.
