Crystal Poirier Fisher, LICSW, LADC is a Vermont Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a Vermont Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
The famous Buddhist teacher, Pema Chodron, once said that "compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It is relationship between equals". This quote speaks to the nature of my clinical practice. I view therapy as a journey that we take together, one step at a time. We will travel on this path and find ways to support a life of heath and wellbeing that are meaningful to you.
I have had the privilege of working extensively with adults and teens in recovery as well as people facing challenging life circumstances (grief and loss related to termination of parental rights, death of a loved one, life transitions, questioning identify) and mental health struggles (Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
I draw heavily on my background as a yoga and mindfulness instructor, my interest in Nonviolent Communication, and research on self compassion and attachment to help facilitate clients' growth and insight. If you are ready to make changes in your life, are looking for a safe place to explore struggles you are having, are ready to examine patterns that continue to act as barrier, or are looking for a non-judgmental person to share your challenges with, give me a call and let's begin our journey together.
