Just ordered 4 Ropa Veija at $25 each to go - $100 of food and it was atrocious how disappointing it was. A pile of white rice, 4 tiny soggy tostones, and a spoon full of the actual meat. Disgusting they think they can get away with ripping people off because they order to-go they short them on food. Place is a joke.Food: 1/5
I went to take my mother out for her birthday and we ordered what are empanadas and some other appetizer I don’t quite remember the food tasted old. We tasted it immediately. It tasted like it has been out for at least three days. Also, it had no flavor. We did not even barely touch it. The only thing that I paid for with a tip was my mom’s surprise cake when my mom went to go speak to the waiter so she could speak to the manager. The manager came out and accused us of not having money to pay for our meal he was not polite. He was being very sarcastic and lying about the food. Being old we even asked him he could taste it for himself, but he did not want to , but still being the classy people we are we still pay for food and included a tip. We do not recommend this restaurant to anybody. The food is horrible. It’s over price and the service is horrible as well. . also, if we wanted to skip the bill, we had the chance because we waited for 25 minutes for the waiter to come back and check on us but we are not the type we have money and would never do that but the the manager still accused us of not having enough money to pay for the bill even though we were insulted and served old stale food that was barely untouched we still paid whole bill with tip . Again the manager was being biased and very rude beyond belief my mother and I were a palled I do not recommend and again I say, I do not recommend this restaurant to anybody.
Absolutely amazingly, disappointing and I will not comeback experience, I have been at the Versailles and Prices still not even close to the ones at this place in “Rahway Nj”, restaurant is clean and good service, but food still is far from being Cuban cuisine, sizes and presentation are really unpresentable, you can do better, congri tasted as mixed rice and beans, and yes, there is a difference. Steak’s flavor was ok I will not deny, but looks like medical sample. Lechón asado, roast pork, looks and feels like tuna fish, sorry I can not recommend this place, unless you are ok with close to average. Please check pictures of Cuban Pete and have a better idea of my narrative and Maybe copy some of that. The feeling of been ripped off also count in the customer experience.
Delicious food and wonderful service. We had a party of six and the waiter was splitting his time across two other large tables, and he did a great job! The appetizers are delicious, especially the empanadas and plantain chips. For my entree, I opted for something light: seared sesame crusted tuna over mixed greens. It was accompanied by a mango dressing, which was perfectly balanced not overly sweet, which is my pet peeve. Can't wait to come back and try the Cuban dishes when I want something heartier, as my fellow diners raved about the ropa vieja and pork dishes.
First off they seemed annoyed that we wanted to sit outside. The place was empty. We ordered chorizo and papas. NASTYYYYY OLD STALE. So we’re the empanadas. Stale and they smelled old. We politely waited for over twenty minutes for our server to come back around. But he never did.. so I politely went to get him and quietly informed him about the food that it was old and that we were not enjoying it at all that we were happy to pay for our sodas and drinks my daughter had already paid for my birthday cake but he insisted that I speak with a manager when I when the manager came out to greet us we told him that the food was old and that it smelled like as if it was old he told us absolutely not that if we didn’t have the money to pay for it so just say that but that his food was not old. Mind you if we wanted to dine and dash we would’ve done so while waiting outside in front of our car for over 25 minutes for the waiter to come and return but we didn’t do that we politely went and got the server and informed him of how we felt about the food. Not to cause a scene I paid for my food that I let completely on the table. And over tipped the waiter. And now I feel sick
Downtown Rahway. Loved the atmosphere. Group and couple setting. Very relaxed and sexy vibe. I'm definitely going back. Coconut mojito was good, as well as the passion fruit mojito.Food: 4/5
Fantastic! It's kind of an unassuming spot with absolutely amazing Spanish food. We started with an appetizer of bacalaitos which were the best I've ever had. Even better than I make at home. Then I had the bistec empanizado which was delicious! The rice and beans were amazing as well. Cleaned my plate. The tostones were probably the weakest part of the meal but that's the only real minimal criticism I can give. I was a bit surprised at how empty the restaurant was and how difficult it was to get seated but it was well worth it. Service was excellent, food was timely and delicious, and I'd recommend anyone who is looking for good cuban food to try this place out.
The service there is awesome with Ale and Miguel on staff and the food is always how I like it. I do want to say Management is the death of the restaurant especially Victor and Eddie who like to talk about people who dine there. Chismes for no reason. Vegetarian options: Need better options then just fried Items.
Went there on a Wednesday night and it was perfect. It wasn't crowded and the service was great. The Bistec de Pollo is my all time favorite!
Decided on Cubanu for dinner with my 2 friends after work. The passion fruit mojito was so refreshing and delicious. We split the Cha Cha Cha sampler and chose the empanadas, plantain chips, and chorizo. All were delicious. For dinner I ordered the Camaron al Ajillo. The shrimp were a little bit soft, but delicious and rice was flavorful. Will come back here!
