The new Cumberland Academy Middle School will continue to uphold the high standards of academic expectations established at the elementary level enhanced by cutting edge technology and performing arts.
This new Middle School is located at the intersection of Shiloh and Copeland Roads adjacent to the Cumberland Academy Elementary School.
Construction is well underway and completion is expected this summer in July.
The new Cumberland Academy Middle School will continue to uphold the high standards of academic expectations established at the elementary level enhanced by cutting edge technology and performing arts.
Each middle school student will receive an iPad for use in and outside of the classroom to connect them with endless educational options under the guidance of their teachers. Elective classes with area specific educated teachers will enrich the classroom day. Students will have physical fitness options including P.E., pre-athletics and dance.
The administration is committed to an average of 20 students per class in the core academic courses to help continue an optimum learning environment for all students. In addition, the building design will be conductive to special events such as concerts, dance performances, and theatrical productions.
As in the elementary school, Cumberland Academy Middle School will continue to utilize the latest educational technology in the classrooms while balancing the curriculum with strong fine arts and performing arts components. Core curriculum courses such as ELA (English Language Arts), Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies will adhere to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), and will be evaluated by the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test. Students will have the opportunity to choose from multiple additional courses such as:

Violin
Students who are currently enrolled in the 5th and 6th grades at Cumberland Academy Elementary School will have the opportunity to be automatically accepted according to the Texas Education Agency guidelines for Charter Schools in Texas.
