I brought my Guinea pig in for an acute respiratory infection that needed to be seen immediately. They were the only vet in the New England area willing to see her, however when we got there they immediately took her back and we waited for 5.5 hrs with no updates whatsoever. Finally when we did get to speak to the vet, they had provided her no treatment except for a heating pad and sent me home with the bare minimums. They want $500 for them to have just taken her back there, took her vital signs every once in awhile, and give her a heating pad. Extremely shocked and disappointed that so little was done for her in her extreme situation. She is still sick l, but I was able to get the rest of the medications she needed from a local vet. Very disappointing for me and my pets health.
We brought our little girl here to see one of the specialists. We had an excellent experience. We were seen on time and actually had 2 doctors input. The person who handled the check in was friendly and efficient as was the check out person. We have absolute confidence in the entire staff here A+.
The most amazing place, from the moment I arrived at the front desk, thru the traumatic experience of having a very ill family member and dealing with the warmest, most caring and skilled vets, surgeons, techs 4th year students, and not to forget accounting to assist w the finances, I felt that my elderly Corgi was cared for and healed by the very best. I also felt very cared for. Forgot to mention how compassionate these people are, and how they go above and beyond in every facet of their work and all their dealings. I am deeply grateful for all of them. And the surroundings go without saying, stunning, natural beauty all around outdoors and beautiful buildings built for the comfort and healing of all the animals, big and small, domestic, farm and wild as well as the visitors. Pure magic.
Do not go here. Juan Fossas the intern was completely incompetent for our sugar glider in critical condition. Didn’t know how to do subcutaneous fluids. Told us our pet couldn’t be seen unless we paid 1300 upfront for hospitalization. I didn’t want to hospitalize her to only get dehydrated and die considering he didn’t know how to administer fluids or syringe feed a glider. Have been waiting all week for a refund. Told me our glider didn’t need oxygen…. We went to VCA Weymouth and they were awesome. Immediately put her in an oxygen chamber and started pain meds as she was critically ill. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to pay thousands for little to no care or concern. Weird because I posted a review last week and it’s magically gone. One star for the exotics intern that was able to change her antibiotics and give her a fighting chance.
I had to take my dog to the ER at Tuft’s after having some cluster seizures to make sure they were able to get them under control and find a dosage of meds to decrease their frequency. He’s been dealing with seizures for 6-8 months now but we’ve never had to take him to the ER before this, so it was a stressful experience all around. From the second we arrived at Tuft’s, they were beyond amazing. They updated us exactly when they said they would, gave us tons of information, and were more than willing to stay on the phone and answer any questions we had. The discharge process was also super helpful with the amount of information they give to you to bring home. I’m so grateful to their entire team and felt confident that he was in great hands the whole time.
Took my munchkin cat here years ago, never said a word but looking at these reviews i must! My munchkin cat was pregnant for over 24 hours. I took her here to get her checked out after only baby had come out. After them telling me its 1500 up front or put my cat down, i had to call my mother at midnight to apply for care credit because my credit was no good! 5 hours after that I was told 5 of her kittens didnt make it and they fixed her without my knowledge!!!!!!! These were munchkin kittens, worth alot of money in the hands of the wrong person! Later that night they smacked me with a bill for almost 5000!!!!!!!!!! Never going to these scam artists again!!! FYI, if youre going to have students in training work on your animals and not a doctor with experience then dont charge an arm and a leg!!! Pathetic
My Boy had KIssing Spine surgery June 2021. I am so pleased with the comfort this has given my horse. He is a changed for the happier horse. Thank you Dr. Lopez-Garcia.
The team at Tufts saved my 11 year old dog’s life. Yes, it was pricey but I am forever grateful my dog received excellent care and she healed wonderfully. She was brought to the ER after having gone through the trash. We got there late in the evening and after talking to the doctor she was on the books for an endoscopy at 1:30am. Unfortunately at this point all the garbage had turned into a ball in her lower GI and they didn’t want to keep causing trauma to her esophagus. They had to open her up and thank goodness it went this route. They found a few a secrets my old girl was hiding away. Tufts called me probably 7 or 8 times during the night and into the wee hours of the morning as they kept finding stuff and continuously updated me and educated me on these concerns. Not only was the wad of trash removed but so was her spleen and a biopsy was taken of her liver. One problem that threw us for a loop was her gallbladder. It was decided during surgery that it would be monitored and taken out after she healed from this round of surgery. However, after the surgeon discussed the state the gallbladder was in with the care team it was prioritized to be taken out immediately. So my poor dog went through 2 emergency surgeries in under 12 hours and was in the ICU for 3 nights. I was understandably an absolute mess throughout this ordeal but the folks at Tufts were nothing but kind to me including the accounting department! Even though the cost added up quick, I wasn’t blindsided by it as they informed me up front what each surgery and her additional care would cost thankful for CareCredit. They updated me when they said they would and didn’t do a thing to my dog before speaking to me first. They didn’t rush me off the phone and answered any question I had and discussed at length everything she through. I am so thankful for how Tufts handles everything and above all saving my girl’s life!
I'll now always choose Tufts for putting a pet down. Surprisingly they cost less than other animal hospitals or vets nearby. You can go to the animal ER at any time and you sit in a private room for the procedure. The crematorium they use is better than the Northboro one because they provide a box urn that has a wooden frame attached so you can place a photo of your pet in it for display. And they gave a little bottle with my cat's fur clippings and a ceramic stone paw print with name carved into it. And they mailed it all to my house for no extra fee
Thank you Dr Allen and dr Conway and everyone else I encountered over the weekend there. Everyone was awesome. They took great care of my pretty girl Andi. The outcome wasn’t what any of us wanted but there care was the best. Thanks again
