What a wonderful place and a wonderful legacy. I use to drive past this orchard as a child and always thought, “ I wish I could go in there”. Go in and wonder among the dozens of apple trees. Spend some time try to catch a frog. Important things to a young kid bent on exploring. Fast forward 40 years and my wish has come true. Except for the frog part. I’m too slow now. Slow enough to stroll through the park and enjoy the efforts of the Curran family and now the parks department. The family donated the 7 acre parcel to the city of university place, the current custodians of this urban gem. If you’re in the area then certainly consider checking it out. Great for the whole family or just a date night.
Beautiful apple orchard that is open to the public for apple picking. It's free and please follow the signs to pick them. Folks also walk around, picnic or read a book to hang out in the park. Local hidden gem. Restrooms: A big portable potty near the barn
Fun place to spend the afternoon with your pup or family or both. Most trees are owned or rented by families, so there is no picking of apples. Beautiful space to enjoy nature.
A place that connects you to the earth of Washington state with old apple trees and all the apple orchard related education topics. Hopefully we could get permission to take branches to graft in the spring.
I would love to volunteer! Very cute and every tree has a different apple. Love it!
Peaceful and lovely little community and park. I spent a nice morning there creating this 11”x14”oil painting
Beautiful trees in bloom during spring , Beautiful views, nice place to walk
I went here for the teddy bear parade, super chill. Caution using the porta-pott, the door is janky.
Pretty little apple orchard turned into a park, with educational exhibits.
It’s a beautiful apple orchard and the boys had a fun time running around. However we went on the first day apple picking was open to the public and there’s only one tree that’s not adopted that you can pick from, but it had no apples. It’s also a little sad to see how many apples were on the ground unpicked & going to waste from the adopted trees. If one ever became available we would adopt and make sure the apples got picked.
