I recently applied to the Peaks for an apartment. Upon seeing the property and unit I am so very pleased to be a part of this community. It is very quiet and cozy.
Crooks. They did a huge rent hike of over 50%. We gave notice of moving and they are charging an extra entire month because it took us a few days to find a new place before giving notice. They expected us to pay $1500 per month for an apartment with MOLD in every windowsill, old blue carpet, and outdated appliances and cabinets. Don’t be fooled by the surface, this place is gross and it’s amazing they pass any form of inspection.
I do not live here and I can honestly say I am happy I don't. I work with someone who lives here. In addition to not fixing a dryer that has been broken for three months and only offering a 50 credit for the inconvenience, she has to deal with the appliance repair business on her own isn't this the Manager's job...but this is not the worst of it. They have chosen to take advantage of our local workers by rasing the rent by more than half. Shame shame shame on you!
Location is great, price was good when we lived there is closer to market value, now. If you can find a similarly priced place elsewhere in Post Falls, move there. Tina manager was great to talk to in person—I only interacted with her a few times in our almost 2-year stay there; however, written communication was very poor. Glaring grammatical mistakes aside, the tone in written communication to tenants is rude, condescending, and insulting. I find this unfortunate because written communication should be the easiest to amend in order to not offend—not to mention emails, texts, and notices posted on doors are admissible in court. Our last straw was a several paragraph letter posted on every door of our building in response to a tenant's complaint. The letter stated management knew who wrote the complaint, but they still proceeded to post the letter on every door in the building. They then blamed tenants all of us, the actual complex owners, and Post Falls residents for every issue in the letter—some of which was completely incomprehensible because I have no idea what was written in the first letter. The whole thing should have remained between management and the tenant with the complaint. It's obvious from that letter that management feels short-handed. I honestly believe if there was less turn-over in the complex, and if they were able to hire out more work, a lot of the stress would be eliminated. I waited nearly a year after moving out to write this review because I wanted to be level-headed about it. I'm choosing not to list in detail the issues that we personally had with management's written communication. It's over and done. I would strongly recommend you move elsewhere if you can. We're currently living at Woodland Meadows Apartments up the street. Rent is significantly more, and our apartment is much smaller, but the management and additional facilities MORE than make up for it.
I did love living here, we really didn't think our deposit would be such a hassle. We were even told by managment we cleaned very well. I have all of the photos and videos of how we left the apartment. Yet not only did we not get our deposit, but we were charged more. There was also math errors on the list of charges, but they have yet to receive or pick up the certified letter we sent so we could just get this whole thing cleared up. I did see them as hard working and never had an issue when living there, so I was very surprised how things turned out when we moved out when our lease was up. If there was better communication and a way to clear up the errors and such I would be happy to give a better rating.
The management team here is terrific. They go above and beyond and make sure that all of the lawn maintenance is done and snow removal is taken care of promptly and properly.I have never dealt with a management team that has been so professional and friendly ever.Just pay your rent and follow the rules and your stay here will be terrific and the location is a huge benefit also.
This place is complete bs and the management is completely unprofessional. The manager and assistant manager a.k.a the daughter of the manager go into your apartment without giving a 24-48 hour notice. The first time they went into mine and my boyfriend's apartment without a notice was while we were on vacation. We had my mom house sitting and she made sure she went every day to water our plants and make sure our cat had food/water. When we got back I noticed our light bulbs and showerheads were different. When confronted via email the response was "Yes everyone was posted. Your notice was taken so someone got your notice." My mom again went every day and NEVER got a notice. The second time was a few months later, the assistant manager was attempting to let a plumber into our apartment, luckily my boyfriend was home from work that day, he was in the bedroom and heard someone trying to open the door but the latch was over the door to keep it locked. So he went to the front door to see what was going on. Asked while they were there and the plumber explained. My boyfriend asked why we never got a 24-48 notice for this and the assistant manager couldn't come up with an excuse so she just said she'd reschedule. No sorry. No nothing. Not worth the stress. I know the rent may be the cheapest around this area, but DO NOT GET AN APARTMENT HERE, YOU'LL REGRET IT.
I’m not sure how this place stays in business when the mother / daughter duo running it act like incompetent children with behavior problems. Daughter gets into a verbal disagreement with tenant guests and has mommy storming through the door to pick her daughters battles. Tina typed out an eviction notice but didn’t do any of the legalities needed to make it official - we decided to leave just to get away from the mother / daughter trolls - thankful though, because in the process we bought a house! Our washer hasn’t worked for a few months and we’ve contacted both Tina and her maintenance guy, Brenden, multiple times. Daughter assistant “manager”, full time whiner, has a camera attached to her patio she’s a resident and monitors parking spaces and who / what vehicle is there. She yells obscenities from her balcony because she is petrified of confrontation and refuses to speak to people like a decent human being. I’d give it 0 stars and a dirty diaper if I could.
RUN! The location does not make up for such horrible management! How Tina Smithson still has a job is beyond me. I guess that is Mr. Eckert's problem. The most unprofessional people I have ever met. She has done too many questionable things to list here, please for the love of god live somewhere else. You will thank us honest reviewers later.
EIPM . Horrible people who are only out for your money and dump the blame on their employees. No notice of termination, excuse was that the phone wasn't answered on a weekend that our son was in a serious, life-threatening accident.
